Given the rates of CSA and the fact that men commit the vast majority of it, leads me to believe that they should be assumed dangerous until proven otherwise.
Generally speaking romance novels such as those offer a thrilling fantasy that is fun to explore but isn't real. I can't speak for most men but I also like these types of fantasies only with the sexes reversed but I doubt that's popular with a majority of men.

Women voluntarily pay 2 bucks extra for the exact same razors because it says "for women" on the package. No one's forcing you to spend money on unnecessary extras.
Ladies nights were a thing because it would attract men into the establishment in the hopes that they would get a date. We live in a world were the majority of women don't want men to approach them in public or even date at all. Because of this men are less likely to turn up to ladies night and so the incentive to give women free drinks disappeared. Personally I think it's good that men bother women less.
