No, it isn't easy. But everything does get easier in time. Do you work on yourself at all? Work out, read etc?

Duuuuude. Are you me, circa 4 years ago? With the exception of the high N count stuff. Most girls play that down, I think... I stayed with the girl. It just ended, should have ended a long ass time ago. I think you need to try working on yourself, to come to terms with what's going on in your head and what you want. You probably shouldn't be in a relationship. The guilt will eat you up after a while if you let it, and then you'll end up with no relationship, no frame and a mountain to climb with…

"I hope she's dead or at least unhappy with her life" This is a bit mad, but OK - I see how you're feeling. However you also said in this very thread that you'd take her back. So which is it? No one deserves to be unhappy, for what it's worth. No contact is good. Well done (your friend was right). Not much contact with other girls == not so good. You need to get laid, probably with a few different women and see how you feel then. You also need to work on yourself to move past the negative feelin…

Yeah, fair enough. My ex and yours are obviously different people as are you and me. "Everyone does annoying shit" - any chance your brain conveniently glosses over stuff that may have driven you crazy? For what it's worth, my personal doubts stem from the fact that my ex wanted nothing more than for us to be together... and ultimately, I didn't want the same thing (marriage etc). Now it's over for good and she's moving on, my brain has gone full hamster wheel mode. You gotta keep going. You mus…

I totally agree with this - "Your mind is editing your ex". This is exactly what is happening to me RIGHT NOW ... I've been thinking about my ex "how did I let her go"... But a month ago I hung out with her and remember thinking "damn, she's annoying, breaking up was definitely the right thing". Now she's seeing someone else, and my mind is making me want her back, and forgetting all the bad times and qualities she had. The mind is a bastard. Time heals all wounds. It WILL get better.

Bought the book. Thank you. Glad to hear you're doing better, and thanks especially for the last part. I understand it's a slow process, trying to stop myself getting caught up in the "now" and "what ifs".

I wasn't really thinking about the "value". I know it has little to no value to anyone but myself. Another post in this thread sums it up I think: "if your happiness depends on anyone else but you, you are doing it wrong". I realise now that I rely too much on the opinion of others.

Thanks for the long reply. I want to do all these things but find it incredibly hard to keep going from day to day. I am slowly realising that I have to MAKE shit happen but it's the gap between realising and doing that I struggle with. Every day is a new day. Also, I have been trying to figure out my path + goals for years and not got far at all. I have no idea what I WANT to do - I am stuck in what I thought I should do.

Yes - I historically have put others way before my own needs to make things easier for them. This was my default way of being and I am trying to snap out of it, but finding it hard.

Sort of. I have been texting / met up with other girls but got nowhere yet. No idea what her situation is but I'm not naive about it. This has made me feel I'm being a hypocrite. You are probably right. Thank you.

Thanks. I don't know - I feel / felt like she was something special I suppose. And I feel guilty because I didn't want the same things. And I have no idea what I want out of life. Guess I better find it! Thanks.

Yeah, I realise this is pretty much the only option. Cheers for the reply dude.

Do you mean let her go as in out of my life? To be honest, I had wanted to be single for a while. What I'm struggling with is if this was down to me not wanting to be with her or scared of commitment or whatever. I must admit - I get the sentiment, but that's one of the theories I struggle with on TRP. I am young so therefore inexperienced, but how can this possibly apply to all women? I get that a lot eventually get bored + look elsewhere (I have dated a few), but surely there must exist women …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
