I dunno, I've tried the whole deflecting thing and personally, for me, it gets tiring. With one plate I had we shared everything. Yep, it's a nervous / lack of confidence vibe that I get. Like they're tying to verbally barrage their way through an interview. Best school of straight answers for me was the army - yes sir, no sir, do not know why the tank is missing sir.

I'll answer you from both sides, as I run a marketing company. As a student - it's a nice bridge between a full blown uni course and complete self study; the best I got out of it was where to direct my self-studying efforts. As an employer - with direct response marketing, I don't pay for your qualifications, I pay for what you can produce. Quals or no quals. Always ask yourself this in re to her: is this how a reasonable, emotionally healthy and balanced person would respond? If not, don't sweat it. Personally, if someone started crying after hearing what you said, I would put them under "immature"
