Damn. Really hoping that it doesn't take me that long to recover, but if it means that I lessen the chance of making things worse, I don't have much of a choice. Guess I'm going to have to become a curlbro for a while.

I would say that it's about an 8/10. It feels like a cramp every time I stand up. I would really like to get out of this whole thing without surgery, so I'm looking into everything except that and an injection. I'm a student so I have to sit down for a large part of my day and that certainly isn't doing me any favors.

Will do. I think a big problem that I have is that I always try to think too far ahead, rather than living in the moment. An example being that I am already worrying about grad school when I still have at least a year and a half (depending on whether or not I change my major). I really need to start setting aside time to meditate so that I can feel more present and less scatterbrained.

I think that this is accurate, thanks for the help. Would you recommend meditation as a way of learning to live in the moment and do less overthinking?

I did go see my organic chemistry professor for office hours about twice a week last semester and he made several comments on how much I was improving in the course (managed to pull my grade from a C to a mid B after the final). He will also be my professor for Organic 2 this fall. I am eligible for undergraduate research the second semester of this upcoming school year. Are there any recommendations you have as to how to make sure this can become a relationship that will transfer into a possibl…

I am pursuing a STEM degree as well (Biochemistry, want to go to pharmacy school) and I feel almost the exact same way you do. Drinking has almost lost its appeal, mainly due to the fact that I need to be functional in the morning. I am beginning to have second thoughts about whether all of this is worth it for the same reasons you mentioned: I feel like I am always working on school while my friends are going out and meeting people, having fun etc. As much as I enjoy my studies, I have to admit…

I think that your assessment is correct. This is one thought process that has been really hard for me to break. I can't lie to you, when I see someone after a period of time, such as the length of time mentioned in the original post, and they tell me how much better I look since getting in shape and dressing better, it feels awesome. Maybe I'm chasing that feeling a little bit too much. Thanks for your insight.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
