In a very basic level, it isn't his responsability indeed. But someone not having to do something doesn't mean they shouldn't. It's an act of kindness, only resulting from ethical considerations and possibilities that may or may not hapoen. He can refuse to give up his seat, the same someone can treat waiters like shit or be mean to other people. But a moral, good person would give up their seat. That's the whole point, not what he can do, but what he should do.

But he was an asshole to the 1000th degree. If his stupid justification is taken to the logical conclusions, it was his choices that led him to have sore feet and to have to take the bus. All else being equal, a pregnant woman or an elderly person has a better claim to a seat because standing up is worse for them, or, God forbid, an accident is more likely to cause more harm. A petulant "I got here first" reveals a lack of morals and maturity.

Alright, I'm against false rape accusations, but this law needs two important caveat: to only punish if it is proven that the person who made the accusation knew the accused was innocent, and only be punished if the intent was to harm them or damage their reputations. Otherwise it could result in women not accusing and persecuting legitimate rapists because they are afraid this law is going to punish them instead.
