Sorry but it is a gender issue. Men pay far more tax and benefit far less from social systems.

If you think about it, most countries already do this. Simply increase the basic tax rate and give subsidies to married couples. Voila, exactly the same effect, but you avoid using the term "singles tax". This can be done not just via income tax, but also through ways that sound gender-neutral, but actually target bachelors in practice, such as taxes on beer, firearms, video games, sports items, cars, prostitution, etc. In more socialist countries, this is even more prominent. I know a few Singaporean men who did exactly that. The sad thing is that most of them are totally brainwashed beta providers who worship women. The smart ones either already left or will leave in future.

Probably the only group that's well received here are libertarians, any other group that supports expanding the government, or increasing social services, free this, or subsidised that, are all unwelcome. Because men are net payers into the public wallet, women are net takers. Both feminists and tradcons want to be supported by men. The only difference is that tradcons want it on an individual level (husband and wife), while feminists want it on a social level (the state). Don't be fooled.

How the state determines fatherhood is not whether he's the biological father or whether he was the one who took parental responsibility, because both of these are inconsistent. The only consistent reasoning is that fatherhood is determined by whatever that is convenient to get some guy to pay child support.
