Gay here. I was pressured to supress fem behavior as a kid, it changed me but honestly I think it was beneficial for ME. I learned to nurture male interests I otherwise wouldn't have learned. I also learned from guys I emulated: more logical, and mannerisms that just made my life easier. I dont have to deal with homophobia. How I learned wasn't ideal.

I'm confused. Are you saying I'm supporting toxic masculinity?

Some truth to this. Gay here. I was a "sissy" as a kid. Got beat down more than a few times, changed my personality. Stopped being effeminate. My experiences made me lock in my emotions and less expressive as an adult.

Gay here. I like politics, gym, fixing stuff, cars, camping with my guy friends, and I am direct, honest and don't pull punches if you ask me a question. I like these male traits a lot. I didn't always have them, kinda grew into them. These interests developed, earlier in life I was teased and beat up even for being a sissy. Stuff can change and interests grow.

Yeah, wanting to train yourself to defend yourself is SO insecure. She's dumb.

This. As a gay kid I got beat down by guys many times for being weak and having some fem traits. I learned the hard way to hit the gym, man up, and I took Karate classes. Suffice to say they stopped messing with me. I learned to be self reliant.

I'm a gay guy and I like sports, politics, gym, and I am logical not unnecessarily emotive and certainly not governed by my feelings. I also have zero weakness for puss and the desire for women has NO control over me. Men need to support one another. They need to console each other, be friends. Guys deny each other of non sexual touch, like hugs cuddles etc and men need that.

You need to make guy friends. You also should TRY to open your mind about "macho" things you may like. For example, working out, camping, sports, but also other interests like crafts, woodworking, metal work, remodeling work, car stuff. There's NOTHING wrong with feminine interests too, but you can choose what you like. Finding guy friends you can TALK to will help you not feel alone, and they will be someone who understands what you are going through. Also, guys are changing and are more open t…

There is an entire system set up against straight men. I feel it acutely as a gay man that you guys are treated like garbage.

As a gay man I can say that I don't understand the situation. Men are half the equation. They should have some say when it comes to an abortion situation. They are completely ignored.

Gay here. I have filed complaints with my state equality commission about the places that charge me full price and women half price. I have won before.

Scared to comment here. Keep getting banned from the platform for my point of view. It's just shocking at this point.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
