This is the catch-22 i've come to realize the more i've experienced the SMP. On the same note, women as a collective complain about being treated as sex objects, yet the overwhelming majority of them expect not to have to bring anything to the table other than sex and their presence. All the while, they expect the guy to be the main source of fun, to have useful skills and cool hobbies, to make more money than her, and to pay for these dates.

This article almost comes off as satire. First of all as others are saying, the premise that soccer was "made for men and by men" and that the game is fundamentally different for women is ridiculous. Soccer is one of the few sports where all the rules and equipment are the same for both genders. This NSF story sounds unbelievable, but I've had a similar thing happen with a couple girls I dated, thankfully with no vengeful epilogue with her contacting my employer. It's flat out confusing when this happens. The outing as a whole might be fine, but that one little statement that would have been innocuous in all other contexts got misconstrued as an insult. As much as i dislike anecdotal evidence, in the lab im at now we've dealt with a mind boggling amount of maternity leaves and continue to. Half have resulted in them leaving-- Years of experience, education and training vanish with them. Kind of funny how she actively disparages his strategy (or to her, a lack thereof), making sure to give no credit to him in attracting her, whether it be his IDGAF attitude or whatever else (physical, economical, etc) made him attractive in the first place. I can empathize with this. It can get taxing sometimes.
