Feminism gaslights male rape victims.People don't care regardless and it really upsets me. I seen somewhere where a women in her mid 20s sexually and mentally abused a 10 year old boy and the comments just broke me I almost cried (that my have been dramatic but still). I think if we teach our sons that they have a right to consent, they don't always have to want sex, they can say no, and maybe if we teach them about a good touch and a bad touch we can get somewhere. I teach my nephew's that it's never okay for an adult to touch you… | /r/MensRights | 21/04/21 09:12 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?Of course! I myself have nephew's, uncle's, my dad, grandpa's, and cousins that have went through some things and I want to do everything I can to help! | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 08:30 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?Yes I agree it does need to be checked. Thank you for having this nice conversation with me! | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 08:26 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?I probably worded bad, the second part it's just a throw away comment about the state the UK is in. No it's fine. I just didn't understand I caught on slowly is all. You're fine! If you haven't heard a woman was kidnapped and murdered then right after a study on women's sexual assault was released that only used 1000 women in one area to say that 97% of women in the UK have experienced assault, in the survey the researchers classed starring and cat calling on the same level as molestation. Yes I… | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 07:26 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?Thank you for sharing, I am sorry for what happened to you and that you had such an experience. And your first paragraph I appreciate. Thank you for explaining that. don't go basing a movement off a small amount I'm sorry, I just need to clarify. I don't know if this is what I think it does or if it means something so I just want to clarify this to be sure. By this do you mean for me to not say that others experience this and to not base this on the minority of victims? (Again, I'm not saying yo… | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 06:53 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?True. But that's what we're trying to do, were trying to help people that need it. When people are hurt, abused, or going through something or they had to endure something terrible through their lives were trying to help them get the help and the support they need. I talked to a lady on a sexual violence hotline a couple of days ago and she said she has helped and supported (and she still is) plenty of men and women. So when those bad things happen they are able to get the help and support that … | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 06:46 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?I'm so sorry. It annoys me to the very end 🙄. I feel as though when the victim is female and the perpetrator is male, no questions will be asked they will just take him to prison (I don't know if this is true or not) and I feel like the other way around (female perpetrator and male victim) they would ask what he had done, and they'll ask her if she has any illnesses, or if she has experienced any form abuse in her past. They just don't care. Hopefully that changes though, people need to start be… | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 06:41 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?I'm sorry that happened to you... I hope you are doing better. | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 06:05 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?I see, I'm sorry. I really wish boys wouldn't have to go through that. It's upsetting to me how no one listens and makes jokes about it. It is just petty at every leven. Thank you for sharing your answer | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 06:01 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?Ah, that makes more sense | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 03:16 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?Possibly. I've seen this especially in high school. There would be boys grabbing girls breasts and butt, there would be boys grabbing and smacking others guys butts (even when they were straight), there have been girls that sat on other girls laps and even hump each other on a desk, girls have also groped boys crotches and butts as well. It just seems so... Weird. But yet again, I guess its just something that happens. I don't think it should though (personally) | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 03:15 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?I see. Thank you for your honest answer. I do appreciate you for responding. Even though you didn't really care, I still do think it's wrong for anyone to be assaulted sexually. For someone (man or woman) to sexually assault someone with no mind of boundaries or respect is outright disgusting. But I see where you are coming from and I again thank you for being honest with your answer! | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 03:11 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?As men we are only appreciated by how capable we are. And that should not be. I've heard something similar, "only women, dogs, and children are loved unconditionally a man is only loved for what he can provide" and I've heard so many people say that that's just how life is, that men should just deal with it (to stop 'bitching' about it), and it just upsets me because I feel like men have enough pressure on them and that just adds even more. If we are seen as ''defective'' or ''broken'' or ''hurt… | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 03:07 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape? How is it so easy for someone to go up to someone else and grope them? It's just baffling how confident people are about this. | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 02:52 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?I'm sorry about that. Even though you might not have been hurt by it or you may not have minded, I do so feel as though all sexual assault is bad and no one should be touched Inappropriately. And yeah like making a joke, like its now "cool" to have trauma Ohhhhhh I see what you mean now. Okay, I get it. Yeah, I understand I got confused before but now I totally understand and I agree with this. I don't know what their point of doing that is. | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 02:51 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?I can just never see how it's so easy for so many people to just.. grope a random person out of the blue, I don't understand how it's so easy for people to do that. It's just disgusting. Honestly reddit has really gone to shit these days :/ Lol, I know what you mean, I've come across a few hateful posts. You're the 1 in 1000 threads I find that are positive. The rest is always politics or men vs women and its honestly getting exhausting. I'm not here much either unless I'm recommended wholesome … | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 02:47 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape? Thanks so much, I admit it messed me up a lot with my interaction with women Of course! And I'm sorry to hear that as well. I'm sure that, that was very hard to not be able to interact with the opposite gender in terms with relationships, friendships, partners, etc. You have my full support! But I'm slowly improving myself in many areas! That is too good to hear! Keep improving, and don't let anyone nor anything slow you down. I have faith in you and all others survivors and I want you to keep m… | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 02:32 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape? That's disgraceful. Fewer than 10? There are more than 300 men that have been, and/or are being abused now. And only 3 beds? Again,, there are more than 3 men that have been and/or are being abused. 40% of DV victims are men from what I've read and heard and it saddens me that this is the case. If that's for homeless shelters though that's even worse Aren't men majority of the homeless? I thought there were plenty of shelters for homeless men since men (like stated before) are majority of the ho… | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 02:22 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?I'm sorry to hear that you weren't treated rightly when you expressed yourself about your childhood. I wish you the best! And continue to fight for mens rights! Let's help each other (men and women) fight for each other, and fight for each other's rights! | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 02:14 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?I'm so sorry that happened to you, I hope you're doing well. I too wish to have appropriate conversations and to help other groups, because that's what we want. At this point that's what we need. We need everyone that is all for true equality to come together and work things out fore the world to be a better place for men and women both. I am, again, so very sorry for what happened to you, you did not deserve to go through that whatsoever. Thank you for sharing and responding! | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 02:11 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?Because not all sexual assault is traumatizing True. Like when you're forced into a hug, or a kiss, or if someone touches your butt, or if for instance someone just touched you in appropriately. That's definitely true. Not traumatizing but slightly uncomfortable. Feminism has romanticized the use of the word "trauma" As by that do you mean they have just made the word trauma into their own meaning? Or do you mean they have made a joke of the word trauma? | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 01:48 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?Women are taught pretty early that any errant glance can be taken as an imposition or as actual assault. Men get no such education. We are taught that we are the perpetrators. We are not taught that we can be victims, And I agree with this. Just like how boys are taught how they are 'supposed' to treat women and girls; yet women and girls are taught how they should 'expect' to be treated by men and boys. Another example is when, a boy is taught to never put his hands on a girl (which is great) b… | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 01:37 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape? That's understandable, thank you for sharing. I just personally think that when a boy is traumatized or hurt he won't come up about it and say those things to downplay the harm it has done to him. I also think that, that is also a reason men and boys (that were traumatized) don't get enough support because others will not view is as such of a problem unless they were the opposite gender. But I completely understand what you are saying and I respect your honesty and how straight forward you were … | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 01:25 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape? This is amazing stats! I love the links you provided that you added to better your reasoning. This should be spread out so more people know this. Thank you again for sharing this! This is much appreciated! | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 04:21 AM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape? That's great! I never knew about r/leftwingmaleadvocates I'll have to follow that. But besides that I think it's a great thing that MRAs are inspiring more and more men to come forward. I'm not a MRA but I'm not a Feminist either. I just consider myself a women who wants both genders to be treated equally, including having equal support. I first found out not too long ago from a video that there are over 1000 SHELTERS FOR WOMEN!! And that's great, but I also found out that there are LESS THAN 10… | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 02:42 AM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?True. You may be right on that, I mean I can't automatically say that they were traumatized or that they had the worst experience, so you have a point about that. I can't speak for them and they probably are being honest about not being that harmed by it (like you said). I just feel as if that when it is said that it is 'less traumatizing' or 'less harmful', I feel like that the boys and men that were traumatized or actually harmed by it won't get the help and support they need because so many o… | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 01:58 AM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape? And I do see your perspective. Although, I myself am not a male but I can see where you are coming from. I am terribly sorry for what your brother had to go through, that is not okay. Abuse shouldn't happen to anyone, and even though she has/had anxiety (which I completely understand, one of my ex classmates had anxiety) I still don't think it was right for him. I do so think we need to make a group for men and boys that have experienced any types of violence and is going through depression and/… | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 01:06 AM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape? You are totally right! It's upsetting how this isn't taken seriously... Men struggle to recognize sexual violence against men because they are taught that sexual violence = evil men doing it against women because men hate women I cannot disagree with this, because it's true. I've either heard men cannot be raped by women, and even if they are it's "less harmful". And when the perpetrator is a male I've heard people say, "how'd you drop the soap?" (People still make these damn 'drop the soap' jok… | /r/MensRights | 30/03/21 12:50 AM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?I have said I have 2 accounts (this one included) and an anonymous account. I am a female, I'm rarely in reddit, and the reason I asked this was because if the post asking men if they were experiencing sexual assault on a daily basis. Therefore I came to terms with asking this question because so many men were saying the statements I quoted in the text below the title | /r/MensRights | 29/03/21 11:08 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?Im not hiding? Please tell me why do you think I'm hiding? Do you think this is a fake account? Do you think I'm cat fishing? Do you think I'm a troll? What is it that makes you think I'm 'bearing my soul'? All I ask is that, why do men and boys not take themselves seriously. That's all | /r/MensRights | 29/03/21 11:05 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape? What does that mean? | /r/MensRights | 29/03/21 11:01 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?I'm sorry, I'm not trying to make it seem that way. This is my (not new) but other account. I have two accounts including an anonymous account as well when I do not want to show my identity | /r/MensRights | 29/03/21 11:00 PM
Why do men downplay their own experiences or sexual assault or rape?Sorry everyone, incorrect grammer in title. I meant, "downplay their own experiences OF sexual assault or rape | /r/MensRights | 29/03/21 10:54 PM
Why does sexual assault to boys get invalidated?Okay, I will not be doing this. What was said has been said, oh and also, as I reread my text it does seem as I was being rude by saying "fun fact", and calling your thoughts toxic, I do apologise for that if it seemed rude. But besides that, I have nothing else to say. I've said what needed to be said. | /r/MensRights | 28/03/21 03:47 AM
Why does sexual assault to boys get invalidated?Let me educate you on a topic as such. If a female teachers has any type of sexual relationship with a student whether he's 16 or 17 at the end of the day she is in a position of trust and she abused that power of trust that she was trusted with. Parents do not send their sons to school for these female predators to teach these people's sons how to have sex. We send our boys to school to learn, get educated, make friends, and learn things we never knew before. And if she were to go against what … | /r/MensRights | 28/03/21 01:58 AM
Why does sexual assault to boys get invalidated?I disagree... 🤷♀️ | /r/MensRights | 27/03/21 11:57 PM
Female teacher who had sex with pupil, 16, sobs as she's spared jailLol, right. They need to sit down elsewhere 🙄. Like my best friend said, "they're not for the streets, they're not for the express way, they're not for the sewers, they're for anywhere else BUT earth!" And I agree with this very quote. | /r/MensRights | 25/03/21 10:17 PM
Female teacher who had sex with pupil, 16, sobs as she's spared jailThis still happens? This is literally all I've been seeing atp it's getting frustrating like bruhh... It seems like the male teachers behave better than the female teachers and at that this is literally against what most people have been told their whole lives that men are predatory.. but yet, this happens. | /r/MensRights | 25/03/21 08:48 PM
Talk about double standards..What kind of question is this 🙄? Of course, people have a right to wear whatever the h3LL they want to wear TF? | /r/MensRights | 17/03/21 05:01 AM
The echo chamber can’t even get rightYes, I agree. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/21 05:32 PM
The echo chamber can’t even get rightI agree. Teach your son, to set his boundaries and to respect people's boundaries. Teach your daughter, to set her boundaries and to respect people's boundaries. It's a two-way street. I'd protect both my son and my daughter until they're old enough to protect themselves. | /r/MensRights | 12/03/21 05:30 PM
Stop conjugal violenceSorry for the rant. I just had to get this off my chest | /r/MensRights | 12/03/21 05:24 PM
Stop conjugal violenceI'm a female and I just wanted to say that I'm sorry to hear this. I have had 1 or 2 male buddy's that were in abusive relationships. One of them ended up calling me to come pick him up (which I did) because his wife was smashing things on his head and throwing chairs, the tv, microwaves all sorts of things. He ended up locking himself in the bathroom while we talked, then I came to get him and he had to sneak out of the side window (of the bathroom). We ended up calling the police and she was a… | /r/MensRights | 12/03/21 05:20 PM
Please answer the survey (if you want). I want to see something thank you all :DI'm sorry. Please answer if you are a male that has been raped/sexually assaulted by the opposite gender. I'd like to see how many people respond, thank you! Or, maybe everyone can respond if you know a male that has been sexually assaulted or raped by the opposite gender. Thank you all so much! :) | /r/MensRights | 12/03/21 03:31 PM
