That's rough pal. I'm fortunate that my kids haven't judged either of us. I'm really sorry and I hope it gets better for you.

Dang. My youngest is going into high school. Are you amicable with her? Is she upset with you for leaving?

Sounds like we're in the same situation. I definitely feel conflicted. But I can't go on faking my happiness either. It's not fair to either one of us.

Thanks for the comment. I fully realize that my inability to get past her past behavior might push her away. But as long as she's happy and I'm happy I think that's the goal. But yeah I don't know if I could get past the years of gaslighting and the lack of intimacy. Thanks again for your comment.

I'm not sure what she would use against you. The conversation between you and your therapist are confidential. Also, there's nothing wrong with seeing a therapist. People do it for many reasons. I think people feel there's a stigma of showing weakness. The truth is it is actually a sign of strength. Knowing you need help and can follow through with asking is a good thing. Please consider therapy. I've been there. It's definitely helpful. Don't give up.

I get what you are saying. I'd like to give a little bit to exit amicably. I'm trying to do the same, just not as far along as you. No advice for you other than to say I understand and good luck.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
