Self respect vs being sensitive.... on the basketball courtIt depends. Could you guard your man or no? Was he switching with you because the other guy was getting buckets? If that’s the case you should learn your role based on who you’re with and try to get better. Other solution is get friends to play in an organized league so you don’t have to deal with BS in pickup games. | /r/askTRP | 24/02/20 03:55 AM
Self respect vs being sensitive.... on the basketball courtLol I was playing pickup in the hood today and every single person thinks me and my friend are trash (only white guys) until suddenly we’ve owned the court for a couple hours... they had me switch onto a scrub before our first game started. I just shrug and take the first rebound coast to coast lol. You gotta be aggressive or else you never get the ball, even if you’re the best on the court. | /r/askTRP | 24/02/20 03:53 AM
Date ideas for non-alcoholics?I usually set up a normal date for the weekend and then build interest by setting up an impromptu coffee date during the week. If there’s mutual interest and chemistry from the coffee data, then I feel better about the weekend date and can plan something that makes sense for the scenario. Otherwise I end it after coffee and avoid investing my weekend time and my money: | /r/askTRP | 19/02/20 11:45 PM
Ignored Valentines DayDon’t text her anything besides where to meet you. Then make it up to her in person. | /r/askTRP | 14/02/20 05:39 PM
Ignored Valentines DayIf she’s a good LTR you should take her out to dinner and maybe give her a handwritten card. Would’ve been better if you just communicated. For example my LTR I just told her we can get dinner on the 15th to avoid the shitty meal prices. I also got her a card, some M&Ms, and a rose from my garden. It’s not hard to prevent this sort of meltdown | /r/askTRP | 14/02/20 05:32 PM
Ignored Valentines DayAny LTR will be pissed if you don’t care about Valentine’s Day. I’d rather spend $50 than deal with that headache. It’s one thing to give a girl gifts all the time like a cuck. Valentine’s, anniversary, birthday, and Christmas you need to give a gift though. It’s almost like paying a tax for being in a relationship. If you don’t care though, then you don’t care. My advice above is only for people who want to keep an LTR. If you don’t want to give gifts for holidays, then you should be spinning p… | /r/askTRP | 14/02/20 05:26 PM
How do I tell gf that I don't want her going out after work with her regulars without coming off insecure? You chose to date a girl with the party personality so I don’t see why you get to complain and have her change for you. Anything you say will make you sound insecure. Your options are (A) stop caring about it and find ways to make yourself busy or (B) break up with her and go back to spinning plates or find an LTR who parties less. | /r/askTRP | 10/02/20 02:51 PM
Girlfriend of 3 monthsI dunno if she fucked the trainer. Either way if he’s seeing other girls and they aren’t exclusive who cares. I Bet the girl probably said that to try and make op jealous. “My trainer invited me to his house, and we could’ve done something, but we didn’t because his wife was there” sounds like she’s trying to get op to commit by saying “look these other guys want me”. As long as OP doesn’t commit he is fine. | /r/askTRP | 08/02/20 01:59 AM
Have any of you escaped the 9-5?It’s just hard to consider switching to something like that. It’s hard to justify leaving a guaranteed high salary for a risky job. I know that The barrier to entry for actuarial work is much higher than the barrier of entry for being a personal trainer. It makes too much sense to just stick to the thing I’m great at. I think the only way I could consider personal training is as a side hobby - either finding just a few clients or working on an app that simplified a workout/diet regimen. | /r/askTRP | 31/01/20 04:24 PM
Have any of you escaped the 9-5?Right now I’m in the city I grew up in. I still have friends here from before college so I have plenty opportunities to be social outside of work. My coworkers are nice, respectful, and competent. I just wouldn’t want to spend time outside of work with them and there isn’t much face-to-face communication during work (most meetings are online). | /r/askTRP | 31/01/20 12:32 AM
Have any of you escaped the 9-5?I pull data, fill in excel templates, and attend meaningless meetings. Same as pretty much half the office jobs in America lol | /r/askTRP | 31/01/20 12:15 AM
Have any of you escaped the 9-5?It is a very risk free path to high income if you know you can pass the exams. I’m 23 and passed 5/7 of the exams so far and graduated from a good university with a high gpa. I was hired with 3 exams. It is nice knowing that I can linearly increase my pay simply by passing math exams, which I’m very good at. I’m hoping to be near 6 figures once I get my ASA in the next year or two. An ASA basically guarantees you 90k and an FSA guarantees you 130k. You barely even have to try at networking becau… | /r/askTRP | 30/01/20 11:44 PM
Have any of you escaped the 9-5?Ok, that’s a legitimate rebuttal. I guess as an actuary I just don’t like the risk involved. I did major in stats in college though, and I also had to study predictive modeling for actuarial exams, so I have experience with modeling with xgboost, forests, and glms. My last year we even got into neural networks which are pretty cool. I just have been sorta depressed because I don’t really have a way to implement the things I learned at work, and nobody would really care if I did. I’m basically ju… | /r/askTRP | 30/01/20 10:08 PM
Have any of you escaped the 9-5?I’ve tried that, but I don’t really think it’s any better than gambling. I feel like it’s safer and easier to have my investments in an index fund. Feel free to try and convince me otherwise. nowadays when I think of day trading I just think of those douchey Instagram guys who take pictures in hotels, rented sports cars, etc telling people they made millions by trading pips. I’d be more willing to learn if there are actual competent stats guys getting results. I just feel like the sharks always … | /r/askTRP | 30/01/20 09:19 PM
Have any of you escaped the 9-5?I agree. It’s hard when you don’t really have a passion for anything that can make you money. I enjoy lifting, sports, cooking, and playing the piano. None of these will ever become an income for me though... I’m really good at math, so I got a high paying job as an actuary. It’s boring af, but any alternative would be just as boring and probably make me less money. There’s nothing I’m truly passionate about that can make me money, so I’d rather just do the thing that makes me the most money. I … | /r/askTRP | 30/01/20 07:04 PM
Gym or soccerHow many soccer games and practices a week? If soccer is legitimate and you’re on a real team, then weightlifting would be a part of your training. This makes me think that soccer is more of a hobby, and you do actually have time for both soccer and the gym. | /r/askTRP | 29/01/20 08:58 PM
I thought woman prefer muscle. They will say one thing but so the other. I’d say the most attractive is somewhere between C and D. Anybody saying E or F are lying lol. I can see girls not liking C because it is almost too intimidating and can be a sign that the guy spend a lot of effort maintaining his body. There’s a reason male movie stars almost never look like C, but they also don’t have as much body fat as D. I think the ideal male body is probably something close to Henry Cavill. The jump from C to D is insane. Goes fro… | /r/askTRP | 29/01/20 07:12 PM
If you had $50K cash sitting in the bank in your early 20s, what would you do with it?I do this right now. Only downside is that you have to be ready to stay in one place for at least 4 or 5 years to make it worth it. The depreciation of the house and the mortgage interest can be written as expenses if you find a roommate, essentially eliminating any taxes on rental income. I make an additional 16k a year from rent, which covers almost all of my mortgage interest. My mortgage is 1715 a month, and I make 3400 and then 1400 in rent each month. Subtract the 315, money for utilities/… | /r/askTRP | 27/01/20 02:41 PM
Do girls care if you do roids? Or they just care about the end result?I get it for people who have naturally shit hormones. Otherwise, I’ve always seen it as cheating. The guy who takes roids will have a better body, and will get better girls as a result. Just like how guys who take roids will hit more homeruns than natural guys. I don’t want to cheat to get ahead. Roids are a big break of frame because you’re basically telling yourself you aren’t good enough and you are taking shortcuts to success. | /r/askTRP | 24/01/20 02:19 PM
Talk to alot of people at parties and such, but never make real friends out of itIf you're going to the club with newish friends, try focusing on making their night enjoyable rather than going after girls. If you aren't a drinker, be a solid DD with a good playlist, water bottles, and a nice, clean car. Negotiate with the bouncer to get inside when everyone else in your group is already fucked up. At the club or bar you can try and set your friends up by talking to girls for them. Or you can give them irrational confidence once they're already blitzed, ie "that girl over the… | /r/askTRP | 01/01/18 10:23 PM
Guy gets sucker-punched by a female, responds and then defends himself from another female"Violence is never the answer, but sometimes it is." - Matt Barnes | /r/PussyPassDenied | 22/04/17 05:37 PM
Masculine sports? For me, basketball is a pretty testosterone boosting sport. You can almost always find competitive pickup games at the gym. I actually love getting in competitive matches, especially ones where a guy on the other team is enraged at you and you keep scoring on him or blocking his shots. Just look how pumped Lebron was during the finals after he blocked Curry. The sport also relies on athleticism. This would be a good option if you are looking towards getting away from sports that embrace physical… | /r/askTRP | 22/06/16 05:18 AM
