Antiwork posts are usually dumb and they need to take a basic econ class. But I mean there are so so many BS corporate jobs in the US. So many middle managers, administrators, HR, clueless overpaid execs. Mostly speaking from my personal experience across a few different industries and corporations. We had many “analysts” at one of my old jobs running Excel reports all day. Literally every report could be automated away by a decent analyst or programmer. 50+ people throughout the organization do…

Just get a nice apartment in the middle of a booming city with no roommates, spend money on furniture, gym membership, skincare, grooming, clothes, going out frequently/dates. Then fund it by getting a social job like at a restaurant or coffee shop! Sounds reasonable.

It’s really really scummy to promote steroids to young men. If they have been training for years and years and then consider them with a lot of thought then that’s a different story. Especially in the age of Instagram and influencers where the fitness models are juiced to the gills to make money, but peddling it as natural and attainable for any guy. This is coming from a guy who really wanted to get on when I was younger but now I’m really glad I didn’t. Imagine if people were promoting teenage…

Just read through it, definitely exaggerated in this thread. The original thread is also ridiculous, one top comment is her standard is just that men piss in the toilet, not all over the floor. Like what kind of guys are you seeing that that’s a recurring issue?? Half the comments have nothing to do with actual standards, it’s just gaslighting about how low their standards are and still no guy meets them. Meanwhile if the standards were actually that low they’d find a ton of guys meeting them. T…

Yeah so that’s why men say if you’re not getting dates to hit the gym, it’s preferred by most women. I think we can agree there. Healthy and fit are the terms I’m using, not thin, thin does not equal healthy. I stand by that it’s not significantly more difficult for women to be fit in general. You could make a thousand arguments for a variety of factors (hormones, stress, family, will power, genetics, testosterone levels, wealth, age, access to a gym, injuries, education, country, etc.) all resu…

Dude she can deadlift 666 pounds at 114 body weight, her back is jacked. Trust me she can wreck you in pull ups. Yeah getting strong might help you get some more dates, but more importantly it keeps you healthy, can give you confidence, and builds up discipline. I say this as a guy who originally got into lifting to get more girls. Lift for yourself, bro.

Ok brb let me learn an entire complex field real quick. Get real. If I’m wrong, please just point out how I’m wrong. If you studied those things great, you should be able to summarize a point and make a concise argument for others to understand. I don’t think you need a PhD to have a general understanding of weight loss.

https://www.menshealth.com/fitness/a30777669/stefi-cohen-deadlift-squat-powerlifting-world-records/ There’s a women benching almost 2x her body weight. Also guys have a huge advantage naturally in upper body strength, so it’s not a 1 to 1 comparison. Yes, men are naturally stronger than women. That’s not impressive in itself. There are women olympians who could run circles around you in their respective fields, even if you trained your whole life for it. You could never survive the workouts of a…

I’m not saying women demand muscles, I’m saying to be fit as a guy you need a healthy amount of muscle mass (don’t need to be a meathead or body builder). Dating wise I noticed a huge difference in attention from women when I put on muscle vs when I was skinny, that’s just my personal experience. I agree it’s my personal choice, but please don’t deny a muscular, fit guy is going to be more attractive to most (not all) women than a guy who never works out, all else constant. It’s something a guy …

You realize eating food to be fit (muscular) as a guy is difficult too, right? I prefer eating less food and skipping breakfast but I have to force myself to eat to gain muscle. And I’d love to see you eat and prep 3k calories (more if you’re building muscle) of high quality foods everyday to maintain muscle as an active male. And we’re not talking about eating ice cream everyday. I mean eating plain eggs, oatmeal, brown rice, veggies, chicken breast/lean protein, protein powder, protein bars wi…

Weight change is a factor of calories in vs calories out for the vast majority of people, male or female, no? Women naturally have a higher % body fat, but they also look better with higher body fat then men (for example 20% bf on women typically looks better distributed than 20% bf on a guy). You can’t make moral judgements based on someone’s weight, but you can infer what their habits are. Like they are likely to not be very active (and yeah there are some large people who are active but they …

Gen Z/millennials were taught over and over that’s it’s creepy to look, creepy to approach. The only thing that matters is that it’s a safe space. Now people are surprised they don’t do it? Kinda hilarious tbh

Lol imagine this genders reversed: “you’d be surprised how many girls get real sad and salty and butthurt when they’re treated like just a piece of meat.” Like of course they’re salty, don’t treat people like shit? Even if it’s a FWB or hook up you should still be be respectful (as long as they are).

Why is the default option for male fashion just suits? They’re so boring and repetitive to me. Also expensive and you’re not gonna get to wear them a ton unless it works for your job. Also not comfortable to wear lol. I just don’t get it tbh.

If you have a female friend, she likely has other female friends. If you hangout with her, she might invite her friends or bring them to parties, out to bars, game nights, etc. I’ve never been directly set up, but I’ve met some girls I’ve dated this way, as friends of friends. Sometimes my friend would let me know so and so was interested, but never directly set us up. As the guy you’re still likely gonna have to initiate and do the work early on. If you’re looking to date this is why having a s…

I can agree women are generally more empathetic, I’m not sure whether or not this makes a huge difference in the kindness levels between men and women. I also think I can emphasize with my guy friends about guy things much better than my girl friends can, even though they are on average are more empathetic. I could see how my upbringing beat kindness out of me and other guys. I was bullied for being quiet/polite as a young kid. You’re taught nice guys finish last and then see it become true as t…

I’d agree women are nicer in the sense of more polite, but I don’t think they’re genuinely kinder on a deeper level than men. If someone has a higher emotional IQ does that mean it will always be used to benefit others? Couldn’t that mean they have a deeper understanding and could manipulate/hurt other people more in some ways? Just like having a high IQ means someone could do good things, but they also have a higher capacity to do harm as well. Also I could agree a 45 year old guy could be used…

Lmao Blizerian is a major fraud. His company went bankrupt and he fled the US. He paid those young insta models to hang around him (and for sex I’m sure). He had multiple heart attacks by his 40s from drug use. His entire business model was to appear as a high value man and live lavishly. In reality he wasted millions, suffers from his drug use, and had nothing but superficial and empty relationships.

Please tell that to the tens of thousands dollars of debt I have and the years it delayed me getting a job I could have done with a year of training. I’m glad you got value out of it, but no I didn’t get anywhere close to the value I paid (you can say it got me a better job, but that’s more so because of arbitrary degree requirements than the degree itself providing value). Really frustrating to hear someone else tell me what my opinion will be in the future. I think our education system is deep…

I went to a liberal arts school and wish I didn’t. The required liberal arts classes were 100% a waste of my time and money. It was like taking high school classes a 2nd time. Easy As. It was a reputable school too. I could have taken the useful classes in 2 years and saved thousands. I agree education and differentiation of skills is important, but when you’re charging $3k+ a class, make them useful.

Dumbest guy I ever lived with had just completed his MBA from a reputable school. He was $100k+ in debt and was looking to lease a brand new car. Had only a part time job. I lost a lot of trust in higher education after knowing him.

Entertainment and relatability is entirely dependent on the individual, for some people sports are for some it’s esports. For you sports may be more entertaining, that doesn’t make it universally so. I also don’t think you understand how popular it is, check out the link for how many tens of millions people are watching these tournaments. https://www.statista.com/statistics/518126/league-of-legends-championship-viewers/ Listen to most NFL, MLB, NBA players talk in post games, they aren’t geniuse…

I lift, play sports myself (just adding since you insulted someone else assuming they’re “nerdy”). I’d say twitch is more akin to watching amateur games/practice vids of sports. There are video game tournaments around the world that are logistically complex to set up to, but that doesn’t really matter? The pro gamers in these tournaments dedicate their lives and play like 16 hours a day at times, they’re dedicated as well. Traditional sports are slow paced and boring to me, I used to watch them …

Yep, too few people understand this. Having money in investments/accessible is equivalent to freedom in the US. If you don’t, you are really a 2nd class citizen. You can like the system or hate it, but that’s the way it is. OP seems a bit extreme driving a $1k car and living super frugally with a great salary, but that’s up to him. But it’s better to me than spending constantly like the average American on things that don’t actually increase your quality of life in the long run.

Good for you, I wish nothing but the best for you personally. I specifically said I don’t know your financial situation, I was more-so referencing the majority of Americans. Also I was arguing with your statement, not you as a person. I tried to provide direct examples of why investing/saving money can be extremely valuable. Debt itself isn’t bad, when utilized effectively it’s a great tool. I’m talking about the gross culture of consumerism in the US and how people in the thread were attacking …

I agree with ya then, definitely need to find a balance. In my experience it’s just much more common to see people overspending and living above their means than to see them over saving and being too frugal. But yeah getting a used car over taking the bus is a solid decision in many cases and I’d do the same. Are there a lot of guys you’re running into saving too much?

To ya know, cover the actual important things in life. Housing, food, healthcare bills, education, retirement (retiring 10 years early if you save can give you back 20,000 hours of your life), car (you don’t need to drive a death trap to save money here? If you’re paying a second rent each month to finance a new car every 10-15 years you’re wasting your money IMO). I’m not trying to say don’t enjoy your life and day to day. I’m saying find ways outside of buying things to enjoy yourself. We live…

It means you can retire early and spend time with loved ones instead of working your whole life. Say you’re able to retire at 55 instead of 65. That’s 50 weeks X 40 hours X 10 years = 20,000 hours of your life back. It means you can pay for unforeseen medical bills and care in old age. It means you can pay for your children’s outrageous education costs and improve their quality of life as a result. It means you can afford to pursue your passions and interesting jobs rather than being trapped int…

Yep. Just because you can buy something doesn’t mean you should buy that thing. This applies to houses, cars, new phones, new clothes. We live in a debt and consumer driven society, so focused on superficial items. People see someone driving a nice car and assume they’re rich, meanwhile they live paycheck to paycheck and are in massive debt. For some reason this concept is lost on so many.

Seems like most of the responses here are annoyed at the way OP spends (or doesn’t spend) his money. I guess frivolous spending is what people in this thread want. I agree I would want to spend my money to get my own place and to travel, but everything else from eating out frequently, buying expensive cars, to buying expensive clothes are needless luxuries. Marketing campaigns and the promotion of consumerism is just too built into our societies. People just keep chasing a high from endless cons…

Who’s running what place? The US? In that case it’s corporations and politicians, which we’re seeing increasing rates of leaders being female, no? We have a woman VP right now, almost had a woman president in 2016. We have more women running for Congress and becoming CEOs than ever before in our country’s history. Younger generations seem to be focused more on competence over genitals, as it should be. What would you have men specifically lobby for? I personally don’t care if x percent of x grou…

I would definitely say arrogance is a common trait of assholes. As for indifference, I agree it’s not unethical or assholish. But I’ve been very indifferent/apathetic to people in the past. It’s not an enjoyable quality to have, I want to care for people and for what I do, not just be a blank emotionless drone. I agree the take it or leave it attitude is great for self-confidence and dealing with rejection. It’s great in the early dating period. But what about after that? when you need to become…

It’s not impossible to be both by any means, but it’s much harder. I’ve had much more success getting dates/getting laid acting indifferent/uncaring towards women. I know it’s anecdotal but that’s just my personal experience I’m trying to share. I don’t like being indifferent and actively have changed to search for more meaningful relationships. It’s much harder to even get noticed when trying to be kind and looking for a genuine connection. I’m not saying all women are trash or are all behave t…
