Mine was also in the mental healt area, closed ward. (Or at least, she should have been. Permanently. )

Lol @ 2 avocados. 🤣 It never failed to amaze me how poor the 'gifts' were my ex considered to be soooo thoughtfull (while, of course, never appreciating anything I gave her). All the more telling how good kids can be at that - how is it possible an 8-year old can give the perfect father's day gift, but the so called love of your life brings home the most useless crap expecting you to kiss her feet. Consider yourself lucky bro - I hope you got some good guacamole out of it. 😅

Second this. Best decision ever. Made more enjoyable by seeing her rush into a new relationship and make all the same mistakes again. Glad that is no longer my daily burden to deal with. Every day of freedom since is happiness and a blessing.

That doesn't work. Going younger, means they either want kids (which OP and similar cases might not want), or, more often, these younger women are spoiled for choice and would not choose an older divorced man who already has (a) kid(s).

Same. I too, drew a hard line in the sand as she continued to use me to fix her chronic inability to organise her own life. Go ask your new boyfriend as that's a husband's job, i.e. no longer my responsibility, praise the almighty, hallelujah etc etc.

Do not give up on the dog. He wouldn't give up on you neither. Now, the ex on the other hand...

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
