r/mensrights, after reading a lot of stories from here and other forums, I am terrified of being involved in a serious relationship or getting married. Do you have general advice for finding non-abusiYou seem to have received plenty of good advice here. I just want to add that you should be cautious, not terrified. The most controversial stories are always the loudest, and so that's all you hear. You hear of all of these women divorcing their husbands, getting 90% of his assets and keeping his children all to herself; you start to think most (if not all) women do this. Just like these women, there is an equivalent male. Just like you (good guy), there is an equivalent woman. So look past the… | /r/MensRights | 11/02/13 01:36 AM
You wanna know what's bullshit? (re: child support)Some of us are willing to accept that risk, because we realize not every woman is out to get us if things do happen to go south. Some of us also do it out of religious reasons. | /r/MensRights | 08/02/13 04:02 AM

Firsthand experience of female teacher abuse against male students in public schoolsWow, I'm very sorry to hear that... I guess I just got lucky with where I was sent, then. I hope conditions in that school improve, but it's unlikely. | /r/MensRights | 04/02/13 03:03 AM
How a radical feminist views her husband: "...he’s just an alien in the home. He helps out a lot with the kids, which I used to appreciate, but now I realise it’s another form of dominance, of tryingIs this the only truly appropriate time to say "literally Hitler"? | /r/MensRights | 04/02/13 03:01 AM
Firsthand experience of female teacher abuse against male students in public schoolsThank you for that read and your perspective on this. I attended a private school from K-12, and everybody was treated fairly. The classes were tiny compared to public schools, and the teachers practically became your friend who you could talk to about anything. There were also a couple of male teachers in highschool. It seems to me like private schools are great for a more equal environment. However, I can't speak for all private schools. I only attended the one. | /r/MensRights | 01/02/13 11:29 PM
Satire: Women of Generation Y - Where Did All The Good Men Go?I think it's better stated that there are two kinds of nice guys. Those who do favors for others, expecting nothing in return; and then there are those who do things for other people, expecting a reward. It doesn't have to be about sex or anything related to that; but if you do favors for others while expecting something in return, you're not exactly a bad guy. But you can't exactly label yourself as "nice" either. | /r/MensRights | 27/01/13 09:30 PM
Satire: Women of Generation Y - Where Did All The Good Men Go?I think there is a difference between a "nice" guy and a good guy. If you are kind to others for no reward other than the satisfaction of helping out your fellow man or woman, then you are a good guy. If you are kind to somebody, because you are seeking something like sex, then you are a "nice" guy. I used to be that nice guy. It wasn't necessarily for the sex. I just craved female companionship. Eventually, I just stopped trying so hard. I just do whatever I can for others these days, expecting… | /r/MensRights | 27/01/13 10:27 AM
Hello people, I never thought I would be the one to post a story of my own here, but today I realize I want to share this painful truth. He's saying that nobody should care about the feelings of a woman like her. As in that you shouldn't care if she goes into a rage or into depression. His point is that, even though she acted horridly, people would go to great lengths to spare her feelings; because she is a woman. | /r/MensRights | 20/01/13 01:03 AM

Just in case people missed out on the story of Bridezilla. (X-Post SRSsucks)This story makes me more sad than excited. I'm happy for the guy that he was able to get out of a relationship that he didn't enjoy, but I'm more sad about the loss of love. She was indeed awful to him, and I agree with him that her ideology tends to be toxic; but I was happy to see she at least apologized for her words and actions, and tried to make things right again. | /r/MensRights | 16/01/13 09:25 PM

Vietnam vet in Longview, TX, profiled as pedophile for simply bringing his grandson to water parkYou seem to think the US is the only country like this. These issues tend to rise in the UK and other countries as well. | /r/MensRights | 13/01/13 03:08 AM
This is currently doing the rounds on my female friends' facebook walls.Somebody should link to them that one feminist article about how stay at home dads are having an easier time raising their children than stay at home moms and how feminists are totally jelly. | /r/MensRights | 12/01/13 06:24 AM
The reductio ad absurdum is so strong that even creationists are going: "Woah there, take it easy."Can we keep the political and religious debates out of this movement? | 1 | My "Feminist" friend just reblogged this on her tumblr where she posts all sorts of anti male things all day. I don't think I've ever been more mad in my life.Well, I guess you're right. Good point. Getting rid of guns would likely lead to less killings. On the very off-hand chance of an invasion of the US, though, it would be nice for our population to be able to defend themselves from attack when needed. It makes invasions that much harder. Do remember I said on the very off-hand chance, though. I don't think an invasion would happen these days. | /r/MensRights | 29/12/12 12:36 AM
My "Feminist" friend just reblogged this on her tumblr where she posts all sorts of anti male things all day. I don't think I've ever been more mad in my life.I didn't make it clear in my post, but what I'm saying is this. If guns were banned, and it was somehow made that absolutely no criminals could get their hands on them, they'd just get their hands on other weapons. You don't hear about someone killing an entire school with an axe, because they have access to guns. Take the guns away, you still got an axe wielding murderer. Or a knife, or blunt objects. | /r/MensRights | 28/12/12 09:05 PM
My "Feminist" friend just reblogged this on her tumblr where she posts all sorts of anti male things all day. I don't think I've ever been more mad in my life.Guns aren't the only weapons people have access to. People are going to use whatever they can get their hands on. Guns, knives, blunt weapons. Guns are just another weapon in a sea of weapons. Guns aren't the problem, it's the people who have violent tendencies that are. | /r/MensRights | 28/12/12 02:24 AM

| -1 | Child abuse in the name of feminism | A Voice for MenIf you can't take this subreddit seriously, then you can't take any subreddit seriously. Every subreddit has people ranging from misinformed to completely idiotic. | 19 | I missed a meeting at my university that I'm sure was informative and not at all misleading. They're not simply "pointing out" the "flaws" of MRMs. They're heavily exaggerating the goals of the movement, making claims that MRMs are nothing but rapists who want to end the Womens' Rights movement. If they would point out actual flaws, that's great. As it stands now, though, they're just pulling stuff out of their ass to discredit MRMs. | /r/MensRights | 23/11/12 04:11 AM |
It makes me feel good when I see the reddit community stand up against blatant sexism and racism. | 1 | I was trying to have a reasonable discussion about this (I'm orange). How can an open discussion exist when people simply dismiss this as "getting pissy?"It's funny how blue felt that men shouldn't have a say in abortions, because "it's not the man's body". The unborn child's body isn't the woman's body either. By blue's logic, neither parent has a say. | /r/MensRights | 22/06/12 09:20 PM
The "wife trying to cheat on deployed husband" facebook link is a proven fake. Why does this subreddit fall for things like this without fact checking? You're putting words in my mouth. Getting a bit defensive there? It is neither okay for MRAs to fabricate stories just like it's not okay for women to fabricate stories to win custody. That was my point, so don't act like the feminists are all innocent. | /r/MensRights | 18/06/12 07:43 PM
The "wife trying to cheat on deployed husband" facebook link is a proven fake. Why does this subreddit fall for things like this without fact checking?Just like many women fabricate evidence in courts to gain full custody of their children? | /r/MensRights | 18/06/12 09:01 AM

This was on my facebook. Apparently all men want is sex and to be lazy, and that is the end of our interests. There's no need to be insulting. My argument is that the duties of a housewife are indeed a job. You don't have to believe that they added to the development of the world, as that's not the argument right now. Let's take sweeping and mopping for instance. Not a job, you say? There are plenty of men who have that duty at, let's say... A grocery store. It's considered a job then, right? | /r/MensRights | 11/06/12 03:07 AM
This was on my facebook. Apparently all men want is sex and to be lazy, and that is the end of our interests.I disagree. There are housewives that have to clean the entire house, which can be very messy at times, while also dealing with children at the same time. Like I said, there are many housewives out there that are lazy and don't do any of the work. They just sit and watch TV or sleeping. Then there are the housewives who are motivated to keep a clean house for when her husband gets home. Motivated to keep their children well taken care of. Don't let the bad eggs ruin everybody else's reputations. | /r/MensRights | 11/06/12 02:44 AM
This was on my facebook. Apparently all men want is sex and to be lazy, and that is the end of our interests. The duties of a housewife (or a "domestic engineer", as they prefer to be called these days) are pretty numerous themselves. It's a job in its own right. Of course, there are those housewives that are just lazy and do nothing, which gives the rest of the housewife population a bad name. | /r/MensRights | 11/06/12 02:17 AM
How can I talk about the MRM without getting people pissed off.Unfortunately, you're almost guaranteed to get yelled at by people who get defensive. It's nice that you don't want to offend people, but the best thing to do is to talk about men's rights with logical facts and argument; whether people find it irritating or not. Logical people will listen and possibly support the cause. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck! | /r/MensRights | 09/06/12 11:40 PM
