Can she legally do this? She had one on him for the first DV situation she accused him of. He doesn’t want to live there and give her another chance to call the police and say she hit him. It was pretty insane how quickly the police arrested him the first time she claimed he hit her, considering he was the one beaten and bloody. So he’s pretty distrustful of the police believing him if she were to accuse him again. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/23 04:36 AM
Can she legally do this?Yes that’s basically the same situation that forced him to move out. He knows there’s no proof he cheated because he didn’t. He was just more so considered about potentially being forced to show private conversations and not wanting to embarrass his coworker by having a bunch of strangers read over her private thoughts and struggles that she shared with him. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/23 04:35 AM
Can she legally do this?Yes, I hadn’t considered the unreasonable to track down but it is unreasonable considering she’s asking for every text message over the last year. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/23 02:08 AM
Can she legally do this?Oh I had been told that Texas was an at fault state? Good to know then. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/23 02:07 AM
Can she legally do this?I think his concern was that Texas is an at fault state and she’s trying to “prove” there’s cheating so he can be “at fault” for the divorce and she can essentially get whatever she wants from the divorce at that point. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/23 02:02 AM
Can she legally do this? Not sure what you mean by hoarder in this case 😅 right now he doesn’t really have much to his name. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/23 02:00 AM
Can she legally do this?I think the impact would be that Texas is an at fault state so she’s trying to “prove” adultery so the courts find him at fault for the divorce and she can then essentially get whatever she wants out of the divorce. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/23 01:59 AM
Can she legally do this?He does have an attorney. He was told to continue to pay the bills for everything because they don’t have their first hearing for another couple weeks. She also kicked him out of the house after she lied about a DV situation. | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/11/23 01:58 AM
Can she legally do this? Thanks. I did tell him to hit up his lawyer. He just tries to be careful with running up lawyer fees because he pays for everything at the house, plus his own apartment. So he virtually has no money. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/11/23 07:06 PM
Can she legally do this? They had a domestic dispute awhile back, suspiciously she accused him after he asked for a divorce. She retracted her statement when she realized the police involvement was impacting his paycheck and benefits at his job, that she benefits from. So they tried to work it out again until he said in their counseling that he really does want a divorce, so she then filed stating a bunch of stuff to include adultery. And Texas is an at fault state so I think that’s why she included it. And then later o… | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/11/23 07:04 PM
Can she legally do this?They’re in Texas. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/11/23 06:32 PM
Can she legally do this?Yeah, I think he’s just upset because his coworker really doesn’t want to get dragged into any of that. The unfortunate part is the coworker is a big support to him with her own divorce stuff, so it would suck if he lost a friend out of this. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/11/23 06:31 PM
Can she legally do this?Yeah that’s what I figured just because I feel like if you have an unstable person that kind of power, they could ask for text messages from a ton of people and that just seems so unnecessary. Thanks for the input though. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/11/23 05:34 PM
