Its very similar in australia, during league season domestic violence sky rockets.

Im so conflicted about living with partners now. I've been in 2 long term abusive relationships, wasted my adult life on douchebags, lmao. I want my own space, but I love sleeping with and making a home with someone at the same time. Maybe I just need to have my own bedroom... good luck finding someone who will accept that now days. And yes, same here. It's good to have the rules, bit to be able to apply them to your own life, and use in the ways that best fit your lifestyle/wants :)

Well, yes. We don't live with our partners until they've been extremely and completely vetted. And I agree, however, as you said it comes down to each person's boundaries. I dont mind a once in a while random casual dinner at some place I've never been to, but I won't be wasting that time with someone who thinks it's a good idea for a constant.

Totally agree. The only time such a date would be acceptable is when youre both at the point when you are living together, and its a spontaneous date night. "Hey, why don't we do this tonight just for something different?" Or "my work mates were saying this place down town is brilliant, do you want to try it out?" Not at all acceptable as constant, or even semi constant thing, especially when vetting. It tells me that they dont value time unless it suits them, and that youre a "might as well ask…

No, none of those. Not even close actually, lol. Ice is a horrible thing. It really does effect every demographic and class of people. I had an old friend who was on 6 figures in in and cushy high management job, and smoked ice daily. Crazy stuff. I'm glad, and probably lucky given my old situation, that I haven't tried it.

A somewhat regional town, so I don't want to doxx myself. Its not to much a "big city" thing, infact drugs, especially ice, are more rampant in smaller towns. Where there is a need, theres a dealer, where there's a dealer, there's their people, and you end up with my situation. Small towns are particularly vulnerable because the "it won't happen to us" mentally is huge.

I wasn't trafficked, but this was how I got sucked into moving large amounts of drugs(large amount for one person). They invite you to the "little party" you have some fun, they invite you again, and the parties get a little more wild, a little more exciting, and before you know it you're hooked on the lifestyle and in a really dangerous position. I was involved in that for 3 years. The first "party" I went to I was 17. I had to pay my way out. Man, what a wild time. (Australia)

Its the embarrassment. The embarrassment of not listening to yourself, not listening to others, making excuses for behaviour that you knew was wrong. Most of all, embarrassment of making excuses to the people who were watching you. I still struggle with this after making excuses for a dude who violently abused me 😂 lmfaoooooo it's been 4 years since I left, and much therapy and medication later, and im finally able to hit the level of healthy healing which means to laugh when you can. I can now …

Yeah, I would also choose option one. If hes gonna ruin my life, I want to, at least, enjoy looking at him. Like, Jason Statham? That man could sell my soul to the devil for $6 and I would enjoy watching him do it! Dont even get me started on Ryan Reynolds and his sense of humour!

Can you imagine if they'd done to Daniel Radcliffe what they did to Emma Watson when she was nearly 16? I know this is sick, but the way women fawned over that kid from stranger things was weird as hell.

In australia big lips used to be called "DSL" when I was in highschool (over 15 years ago). D#ck sucking lips. Thank God for growth. I haven't heard this insult since I've left school though, hopefully it died there.

I had a friend that was the exception to the rule once. We both found each other sexually disgusting, but we were best friends. Could stay awake for days doing nothing but talk about the meaning of life. Ill always cherish that man, he was probably the realist dude I've known. I asked him for boy advice once, he told me "girl, you're a sucker for pain if you keep putting your foot into that pond. Find someone to worship the ground you walk on, and walk through life happy." He was a good dude. Hi…

Yeah, I agree. Someone who blabbers only when they get caught, is not a sad story, it is blatant manipulation. Women need to crush this crap. My ex set himself on fire because I was trying to leave, I got sucked back in straight away. I saved his motherfucking life and he still violently abused me and tried to murder me multiple times. That was probably his most severe suicide attempt, but there were literally hundreds in the 5 years I was with him. Some days it was multiple times. They know, la…

Its fked up isn't it? Like most domestic abuse* cases though, the women don't get heard until something really serious happens. *it is still domestic abuse - in Australia anyway, we have partner and family violence

Trauma bonding happens due to the high/low nature of the abuse. There is an unhealthy mix of punishment and then intermittent reinforcement of kindness when you "behave", that causes an addiction. The victim starts to chase that tiny bit of positive reinforcement. And thats why it's so hard to leave. It took me nearly 2 years to let myself believe it was a rotten situation, and he was violent most days, but that didn't matter because the happiness I felt when he apologised to me with flowers and…

I dont read any further then the age gap anymore. No need to go further, men and women - any adult willing to be in a sexual relationship with someone who's basically a child is gross. Im 28 and look at people 3 years younger then me as kids, how can any healthy brain think thats attractive? No. Nooooo. It screams insecurity, abusive and controlling to me. The power dynamic shifts and it just becomes gross all around.

dental hygiene is vital I am 28 and learning this now. I was in an extremely violent relationship that lasted 5 years, and teeth were on the bottom of my to do list, saving my own life daily was at the top, and usually a full time responsibility. I've just got braces to fix my busted ass teeth from him, and my teeth are ruined. Demineralisation, gum issues, I had 2 molars dug out and reconstructed. Teeth, look after your teeth.

The towels thing gets me hahaha I use mine 3 days in a row then wash. I live in regional Australia and we've just come out of the worst drought I've ever seen, and we are on tank water. If it doesn't rain, we dont have water, so some habits had to be changed for the greater good, which leaves me a bit short handed when it comes to these particular discussions lmao. I thought womens gyms were a thing all over the world until I got on this sub. Australia has 2 major gym franchise for women - fernwood and club pink (or lime), then a mix of smaller privately owned women's gyms, and then community female only classes.. including self defence... Absolutely, all I was saying is those two specific things do happen, and shouldn't be excused or overlooked. I wasn't trying to diminish the things women as a whole deal with, I was just putting emphasis on those two points, and the insinuation that they dont happen at all. I don't at all believe that women are as bad as men. We're not even on the same level, not even close. But, we as women need to hold those horrible examples of us accountable for what they're doing - we need to make sure that…

FDS is about self accountability as well. How do we bring women up as a whole without calling out the ones who abuse others? Namely children. The specific phrase I replied to insinuated that LVW havent abused boys, or made their husbands fear for their lives. There was nothing about women being inherently bad, or a system that backs them up, or anything else you've said. The only thing I said was that we should not let low/negative value women off the hook for their despicable crap either. Stati…

The day I see LVW using teenage boy for there bodies, and husbands are scared for there lives, I mean, these two specific things do happen, more often than we know, I could pull up a few news articles that have happened in australia. But it's not 97%. Its just not, but we shouldn't take away from those boys who have been abused by LVW. (And genuine male victims, cause we all know how they love to pull the victim card)

Well, I'll counter your story with mine - my ex used to cut his toenails and they would get ingrown and infected - then he would make me sit on the floor, cutting his toenails, whilst he whinged like a child. Thats what I mean. Obviously not the above situation, but how many boys are out there genuinely thinking they're not doing anything wrong, because they've never been taught consent? Its not something that they necessarily have to worry about - most times when they're getting raped, they know it's rape. When the shoe is on the other foot though, it's more difficult to place. I hope there is. As for it being relatively new, I'm not too sure. I had mine around 20 years ago. Either way, having the vaccine at any age is better then not, even if it doesn't cover all strains, it's designed for the more dangerous variants. In australia they do our tests every 5 years - it used to be every 2 years after becoming sexually active but they've changed it recently. I've been thinking lately that this could be a "consent education" thing. (Some cases obviously) We learn about sex ed, how things work, how sex works etc, but no one discusses consent. Yes, she consented to sex, but someone who doesn't know how consent works, wouldn't know that anything outside of the agreed terms is rape. Most of the world still have "perceived consent", basically, if shes wet, and into it, its consent. This needs to change. Just a thought. I still think people who rape, knowi…

but the emotional abuse from my ex was worse than any bruise This is 100% the truth. Bruises and breaks heal, and rather quickly. The emotional abuse sticks with you for years. Mostly dormant, until you're triggered by some kind of minor nuisance thing that means nothing at all to you. The emotional is the difficult, and most dangerous part to heal from... It's not a direct reflection of their views/behaviours warning their girls about shitty ass men lol.

Lots of em are pedos/perverts/abusers and projecting. They know other men must be dangerous bc they are. But wouldn't HVM do the same thing, as they know the crap that goes on? Specifically, my sisters husband is easily the most HVM I've met, and he always says this about my 2yo niece lol - "I know what men are out there" he says.

Yeah same. I spend maybe $50 a month on makeup - good products that don't upset my skin. I only wear it to work, and thats because I'm in a male dominated industry, dealing with corporate assholes each day. You can be pro life, and also fight for women to have the choice. To have the choice and to choose no, still relies on the choice - that choice that so many women globally are fighting to have. Pro choice =/= pro abortion

My dad used to be like this. "Used to" being the key words. Mum got the shits one day, when I was about 15. She told him "if you dont start pulling your own weight in MY house you can get out." He smacked back with "who paid for this house?" No word of a lie, she looked him dead, and said "fine, its your house, YOU look after it." I agree. Cooking/cleaning is about the only thing I am willing to compromise on, within reason, of course. There has to be an equal split, either of us cook, the other cleans the kitchen. Or both cook and both clean the kitchen. However, if there is a certain meal that either want, they cook it. Like my mum says - "it's not a dine in restaurant where you place an order, you get what you're given or make your own" - some times we all eat together whatever she cooks, but most of the time my parent…

Im glad people are mentioning women here as well. I know it's majority male offenders, but we need to stick up for the boys who "won the dream" or "living the best student life" (etc) with female teachers who are doing the same. Exactly. If they cared so much, they would start making changes to get those statistics down. But they don't, so they won't. It's too much effort to arrange the things that they think will fix it, so it goes untouched until someone brings up womens problems and they're like "oh yeah! That thing we need to work on!" Its a book that is hard to swallow - not in the sense that it's difficult to understand, but in the sense that we have to admit to ourselves that we are not living our own lives to our full potential. Men don't see their women as human beings, that's why they could be a good person as a friend, like you said. When its their girlfriend, they have some unspoken ownership status, and the mask drops. (I know we belong to no one, just pointing out the thinking pattern)

Dad makes each Sunday all about mum. He does all the washing, cooking, cleaning etc. Note- He works about 16 hour days, 6 days a week (at 58 mind you) and is just too exhausted to do anything during the week except make his lunch and shower. So he makes up for it on Sundays.

I was worried as well - im on Levlen ED which is probably one of the oldest combination pills out there. It's the one that doctors initially prescribe first timers in australia because it has the least amount of side effects - if it doesn't work for you, then they start exploring other options. I went on the depo shot for 6 months. Never fking again. periods were worse then I've ever had, and took 8 months to stop the bleeding, I was leaking through a tampon and filling a pad every hour... I went on it originally for horrible periods and cramps. My doctor specialises in woman's health, so I went for POCS, endo scans etc, and there was nothing wrong with my reproductives. My periods just suckkkk... and I've been on it ever since. I always still use condoms though, the birth control just adds a bit of extra back up, which is nice. (I get yearly check ups, smears and blood tests to make sure I'm sweet though)

This is why I've been chewing birthcontrol like candy for 15 years lmao, nooooooo. I will only have a child when I find love like my parents - won't do it for any less. My parents - been together for 38 years, and still do date nights, still cuddle, still hold hands when they go out. My dad worships the ground my mum walks on, and she the same. Jennifer Aniston is another example, she hasn't aged a day since the first episode of friends - her hairstyle is just better lol Maggie Smith as well, shes 86 years old, and has been "old" for as long as I can remember, but she's beautiful. Julie Andrews as well Age is nothing but counting years - if you're wonderful on the inside it burns through to your face/features. Avoid getting pregnant by a shitty man AT ALL COSTS. As a woman, you have nothing to gain and everything to lose This is why, at 28, I have no children. This is why I am not phased whether I do or don't have children of my own in this life. Edit: laughing so hard at all the triggered redpillers in my inbox 😂 Still don't understand how dudes think this isn't a bad thing- like how can you justify being a shitty person? 🙄

Thank you, I wasn't sure if it was culture or religion so I put both just in case. I couldn't even imagine living with that done. I remember watching a documentary about 15 years ago, I was horrified at the constant pain the poor girl was in. She was always bleeding randomly as well. She talked about the trauma of having her bits sliced with no pain medication, and her family including her own mother, holding her down like she was resisting arrest or something. Horrific.

You know, I wrote a whole thing about how crappy men can be, Then remembered theres a whole culture/religion dedicated to this by ways of female genital mutilation. Like a global fight to make this illegal. In australia if you are suspected of taking a female child to another country to have this barbaric procedure done, youre stopped at the airport, CPS takes your child, and you get locked up. Fuck people. Edited to add - I know this is only done in extremist cases (I hope anyway).

True sex positivity for women is impossible in a world where most men think that sex is something done to women and not with women. Id like to add to this - where most men think that sex is something done to women and not with women. That most men think that sex is for their pleasure, and not the woman's pleasure. Because most women dont get off, so how can they at all think its about us?

Thats exactly it. They know exactly what they do, but we are so conditioned to keep the peace, difuse situations, minimise our feelings etc, to make their bad stuff seem okay. There's no accountability at all, and thats why they get away with it for so long, with multiple people, unlit they finally get over it and settle with a woman who will settle with him, in an unhappy, ticking time bomb.

Absolutely! You can choose a new life at any point. Just get your ducks together, make a plan, and do it. I didn't know that, thank you. I had a friend in school who got her first period at 7 years old... barely in sex ed. Its rare but it can happen. Imagine thinking youre bleeding to death at 7 - it was bloody hard enough at 12 lmao

Dude, my cousin married a 40 year old at 23. Her parents hated it, so did mine. I went and lived with them for a bit when I had a job near her, it was quicker to get there than it was from my house (30mins vs 1.4hour). I watched him beat her... dude didn't think it was funny when I came at him with a fry pan and clocked him with it. As far as I know, he stopped after that, once he realised that small women can and do fight back. I also threw in the old "do it again ill end you, youre worthless a…

Next time, blankly stare at him, and say "I wish to sacrifice your blood to the devil God" and chant some illogical nonsense words at him over and over. (Kidding lol, though it would be funny to watch his reaction lmao)

I think, going back to the start of humans, before societal standards and what not - women were to reproduce as soon as menstruation started, maybe its just evolution not caught up yet 🤷‍♀️ Edit - I hope that wasn't rhetorical questions, and I answered making myself look like a goof ball HAHA

the brain doesn’t stop developing until one is in their 20s, Fun fact, womens brains make their final connections between 26-28, men's brains make their final connections between 30-32

Sorry, aussie.. I forget that we speak weird... https://www.macquariedictionary.com.au/resources/aus/word/map/search/word/cat's%20eye/Central%20West%20NSW/ Definition b in this link I lost my virginity in a field, full of really big, super sharp prickles - we call them cats eyes where I am, posted the definition incase I dont explain it well enough:)

I lost mine at 13 and drunk. Barely remember, I vividly remember pulling prickles out of my butt cheeks though. Youre exactly right, you live and you learn - big ups if you dont repeat after the first lesson, but most of us do lol

I’ve seen people avoid the thing which will hurt them most in just the way she is. I was one of those people. The ball will drop hard for her, just as it did with me. Once the clarity is there, she will be able to categorise and feel her options out. I just hope she chooses out, rather then "we can fix this". Abuse is a hell of a thing.

I mean, technically females brains perform the last snap of brain connection between 26-28, male brains perform that final snap between 30-32. Not so much "mature" before men, but our brains are finished before them - I like to think this makes us smarter 😉 (only kidding, top laragraph is true though)

I came across a paid advertisement for ISIS recruiting on Facebook once- reported it to Facebook, they said "this does not violate our community standards" I screen capped it all and sent it to the AFP, including Facebook response. About an hour later I got a message from FB again - "we have removed this page/group" Dumb.

The more I am on here, the more I often remember more shitty stuff my ex did I raise you - the more im on here, the more I realise the shit my ex did was not okay lmao. He had me so tied up i used to cut his toenails, because when he did he would come to me bleeding and madder then a cut snake. He was violent, swear to God, before this group, and a few other wake up calls, i didn't even realise he was actually a shitty person without the violence.. the more you know hey

I like to think she used him as a life time transaction. She married for money, and a life that leads her down the path of making all her wildest dreams come true. He married for beauty, a "trophy" wife. She is a stone cold gangster I 100% agree. She wasn't hook, line and sinkered in - she weighed her options and chose the one that will set her for life. She knew what she was doing

I bet those parents say "well, dont sexualise my children - which is true, but seriously... you cant take an adult movie with the adult innuendos and put them on a kid and expect the same things to be "innocent"

This is one of the key signs of child sex assault in girls as well. Its one of the things we are trained to watch for in schools.

Its just so dumb. I get that its "just a movie character" - especially kids because she's all about bright colours, but seriously.. even adults romanticising their relationship makes me sick. I've been in a relationship that was so volatile that I was fighting for my life every day - this ain't it cuz

Also go for all the self proclaimed "harley quinns" as well. Makes me sick that people idolise their shitty relationship so much. LOVE IS NOT THAT. 🙄 its fine in the context of the movie, but outside of that is gross. You dont see people dressing up as the notebook characters, do ya....

Here for this also! I seen one woman, her man played a joke on her and said "you need to put more makeup on, we are going shopping" She was already dressed/done up brilliantly - she looked at him and cussed him out like "I am a fking 10 with or without makeup, who do you think YOU are, telling me to put more on, youre a fool" I've not, and won't ever, forget that video hahah she was brilliant. I dunno, my violent ex used to beat himself black, blue and bleeding all the time. Used to throw himself into walls, throw himself at brick walls, even set himself on fire. I watched him beat himself unconscious with a hammer. You have crazy, then you have crazy. Im lucky to be alive, and to have my best friend who orchid me in my face and said "*what the fuck are you doing?!" when I almost went back after leaving. I would have been dead.

Dude, 6 months ago me needed this..... my ex was a piece of work man, playing me off 3 different women. That last one tho, he's still sleeping there. He told me "I can't do this anymore! I'm leaving you, you too crazy!" I said, "okay, come get your stuff" - he cried, begged, tried all the tricks to change my mind, the only thing I changed was my locks. Seeyaaaa! Kudos to taking the trash outtttttt!

I think most people are able to recognize the huge signs of abuse but fail to recognize the small transgression of boundaries For sure. We can all call a hit, or a violent threat abusive, but when it comes to this, we think that maybe we are over reacting, and because its such small things, we forget about it. We never remember all of these things in the same category - until after its all done and we have time to process whats gone on

Reminds me of my ex - never ever got me a present of any kind, was extremely violent, used to chuck a rage fit everyone people would celebrate something that wasn't about him directly - namely Christmas and my birthday- When I left him, it was end of November, and he got me a Christmas present - it was a fuel pump for my car. He trashed my car about a month earlier, in drug induced rage during a 5 day bender, and I scrapped it while he was passed out for days after. I dont know how he didnt real…

I do believe that you should ask to communicate once - just to be sure he isn't (or is) an ass. Twice makes it true, Third time im out. As for the truly depressed men (and women) and not willing to seek help, then their behaviour turns toxic very quickly, and you can not help them. Thats a doctor/psychs job, not the partner. Sure, if theyre getting help, then stay and support (within reason), but it is not your responsibility to fix broken people.
