My ex said a thing. Two weeks later I hired an attorney. Some things are just unrecoverable.

I love it. I have an ultimate goal. I’m going to buy a piece of land in the mountains and build a damn cabin. 11 years until retirement.

I bought a drum set, a new truck, and a camera. I’m developing new hobbies. It’s not always bright and sunny, but it gives me options when the clouds start closing in. I find solace in my routine. Minimum required effort to complete the day. Then I can find the places where new things can be introduced. The routine either adds these items, or it doesn’t. It also takes me a minimum of 3 months before anything I do becomes habit-forming. I know this about myself, so I know how long I’ll have to pu…

Yes. Repeat DUIs and an assault charge. Also, she’s lazy, so even after the therapist, the parents, and I told her to get a lawyer, she refused and signed anything I put in front of her. Long story short, I lucked the fuck out too hard to not recognize the great boon I was given by marrying someone who was so selfish they only cared about getting out on their own to worry about anything related to the paperwork. I was playing with a loaded deck. I don’t have nearly the same experience most peopl…

I managed. It felt like I was pulling off a coup single-handed. Plus my ex had a history. I looked like a million bucks on paper. Fucking red flags I should’ve seen were a thousand feet tall and slapping me in the face, but apparently I’m half an idiot when it comes to women. Learned my fucking lesson. Never again. Not worth the goddam risk.

Everyone still just dies “around you”, not with you. I got the joke, but the sooner people realize it ends and that’s it, there’s no dignity in death, and all you can hope for is painlessness and peace at the end, the better off we’ll be. Not gonna stop living my life, but I’m under no illusion that the end is coming regardless of what or where or when I do. I did lol though 😁

Fucking this. My STBXW has next to zero ability to exist in the adult world on her own, and any time I tried to explain to her that the “adulting” is what makes everything else happen, it turned into a shitstorm about how demanding I was and how I “think and plan” too much and how that’s just “not who she is”. I’m so fucking glad I pulled the ejection cord.

There’s good stuff here. Sometimes just hearing somebody say what Mike says can help. Definitely take a listen if you’re going through it right now. And check out the FB group!

I was in a similar situation. After 4 months of marriage counseling, we both gave up. I had planned for a knock-down, drag-out fight, but it ended up being mutual. All of my prep work allowed me to move VERY quickly with the paperwork while the feelings were all positive, and got mostly everything I wanted very early on signed and included in the complaint. Speaking for myself, what I thought was going to be a horrifying fight about splitting up wasn’t. It’s not always a worst case scenario. Sti…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
