I've found her throwing out photos and mementos. I've been tempted myself, especially after she cheated. I've taken to taking them all before she can do anything with them. I'm going to leave them all in a box, put them on storage and then maybe one day my daughter will want to see them. I don't even like my ex anymore, and these are all poisoned memories, but they make up who I am.

100% no. I understand your pain is very real, it is hard for you to accept the loss. But especially if there are kids involved, just leaving ACTUALLY shows some care for you and your emotions (I know that sounds stupid to your right now). Having the integrity to walk away is FAR better than becoming a lying cheating mess. Chatting doesn't make it easier, all it does is increase the anger, and make everything else harder to process. The thing that I see from the outside is the hundreds of little "sins" believers do on a daily basis, while speaking about having moral superiority over a few hand picked scenarios. If you look deeply and honestly, I'm sure you will find the same scenario that is going on with you. If you don't, then please tell me what the Vatican is like this time of year your eminence. You've already said your divorce is not "sanct…

Mine filed on me. Betrayal and rejection make shitty bedfellows. I don't know why I still care, but I know it has to be over entirely, and it has to be over soon.

Wow, you might be me. Together since I turned 18, only girlfriend I've had. I'm now 42, 25 years together, 1 kid, alldown the drain due to her cheating. Even your sentiments sound like mine.

I am feeling this so much right now. We have our first mediation meeting Thursday, and it still seems like a dream. She cheated, and all I can see is the barriers she's erected to stop from healing. Avoidant-dismissive attachment style, every time we would start to get real, she would run away. I can't make her see the barriers, and wish she would. But she'd rather run away than face what she did. Together 25 years, married 20. I dream about her almost every night and wish I could just roll over…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
