She definitely changed pretty quick, all happened so fast. Ugh, it sucks but might be true

Thank you I totally agree on the exercise part and I need to find a better therapist

At first it was that she felt different about me, and didn’t want to work on it. We were different people and both had our faults but it was he generally good. We disagreed on a few things which led to fighting.

No children, and she makes a bit more than me so she was able to qualify for the mortgage. We bought it just over a year ago and lost equity in it so this was better than selling. I wish I could have kept it but just didn’t have the money. I would have preferred to sell it because it feels weird that she will keep it but selling it would have lost us money and been a longer process

Thank you I appreciate it. It’s what I need to hear. I just can’t believe someone can do this to someone. It’s insane.

Yup I 100% agree, I’m not going to save much money and I have gone from splitting mortgage on a bigger house to a freaking basement suite!

I think I gotta accept that too, it’s really crazy that it just affects them differently. She has been nice enough but the minute it happened she was just so cold about things. I wonder why though?

Ya I think you are right, and just seeing how she is now, how cold she is throughout this just makes me feel like we could never get back together. I think she loved me but it just didn’t feel like she did towards the end. I agree that I have to become someone with enough self respect to just let her go.

It’s really crazy right? Like the minute she told me we were breaking up she just completely changed, it’s like she had no emotions about it.

It definitely is! Do you have advice on if I should move out again or stay with my parents for a bit and save money? I make decent money but I’m priced out of a house right now. I could find a rental for about a third of my income right now, which is not bad. I’m almost 30 years old. I am getting comfortable at their place which I don’t think is good long term, but the rentals I’m finding right now are nothing compared to what I had (free standing single family home). Like I said in my post this…

This is great advice and ya I agree, she is happier and more free without me. I felt my mental health was a partial cause of the relationship ending, and now it’s my mental health that is making me take this so hard. Your advice is definitely what I need, I need to live for myself and enjoy life more. You are right, I doubt she will ever take me back, but me moping around and feeling like this definitely didn’t help the attraction. Appreciate you brother. My goal tonight is to go mountain biking…

Appreciate this so much, sorry you are going through something similar but I think you are spot on, this gives me a chance to be the man I want to be and improve and hopefully love someone the right way in the future

Thanks so much for your comment. I am sorry to hear you are going through something similar. It does make me feel less alone to hear others stories as well. I didn’t dig into it but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was infidelity in mine as well, at least on an emotional level. Honestly, in the last few days I have made good progress and am feeling better about things. I honestly think most relationships that start in the early 20s are very difficult to make work. It’s such a difficult time in l…

Appreciate this perspective. Even though we had some issues it was worth some sort of communication at the least. Buying a house is not some sort of fucking joke and could be a huge financial problem for us. It’s not a game and ya I gotta turn this into some anger too. Takes two people to make a relationship work and I think she just didn’t want to make it work. I’m a decent guy honestly, I am relatively fit, have a great and stressful job, did the best I could to keep her happy.

Got a therapist ! That’s been helping . You are so right, went through a lot and at the time I did give everything I could. Went through covid, my own health issues, family issues, an extremely stressful job. I really do have to give myself some grace. There isn’t a man in their 20s that doesn’t have issues. I really appreciate your reply thank you

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
