This, criticism and open mindedness can help it improve to benefit all women-and men too!

I do see flaws in some forms of feminism. Women often face backlash too. Some women are seen as "anti feminists" if they prefer more 'feminine' aesthetics or prefer more nurturing jobs or caregiving, or God forbid they fall in love with a man and some even...get married and some have kids too!

It makes me think about chivalry....I appreciate it when a someone opens a door for me....but some women see it as sexism if a man does it...and kindness if a woman does. I open doors for people because it's kind to do....some people truly are kind it's not necessarily because they see others as weak or incapable, but also helping those who are incapable such as the disabled or older people is a good thing too. I feel some people forget men are human too, us humans wanna help other humans.

I agree I also believe in equality for men and women, as well as all children.

Wow, thanks for sharing the men/boys perspective of the school system. I remember being in college a few years ago and I felt like I was listened to and that us women special treatment, which felt so nice ngl! However, I was told that the public school system favored boys over girls and that girls were punished for the same behaviour and weren't taken seriously (I was in k-12 in 00s/10s). Although it seems to be getting alot better which is to me as a woman is a very good thing, but like you sai…

With all the misinformation online, I'm not sure what to believe anymore, I can only base stuff on what I already know from real life experience (which is why i came here). I notice these feminists saying "men are bad" or "I hate men" and I know that many many men (and people in general) are good and don't wanna hurt anyone. I also notice that it's either me or men's mental health crisis isn't as acknowledged as women's mental health even though I believe mental health should be taken seriously …

I see where you're coming from, but I would do good research before jumping to conclusions like that since theres alot of misinformation online. Some women do probably but idk about the majority of them. It could be moreso about the feminists who sadly were truamatized by men believing "all men" are bad, so many many people believe "all men" are evil, that's what I notice.

I noticed the democratic spaces/beliefs were very different in democratic eras such as the 90s & like 2012/2013 than they are now. I know some people sadly go right wing because of that, but not all of them do if they're still very progressive in their beliefs.

As a woman I just wish progressive spaces also acknowledge mens issues too and not in a "patriarchy backfired/toxic masculinity" type of way. I just wish safe spaces didn't have these harmful narratives about men in the first place. There is also a way to acknowledge systemic struggles women face without the narratives modern feminism has about men as an entire group.

I'm a woman and I wanna learn why the education system is bad for men in their pov. I've heard lots about the feminization of the school system but I mean feminine values are good for anyone I believe but I heard that the type of education doesn't benefit boys but benefits girls moreso. It's hard to think of solution because personally I think it could be that girls/women and boys/men learn differently, so how should we adapt so it benefits everyone? But I also believe more focus on feminine val…

Imagine if there was a public health emergency for women but it was blamed on the women "well that's different because we're the opressed ones". I identify as a cultural feminist woman so I have no problem with feminism itself but it's the ones who have no empathy for men and treat it as if the patriarchy are "all men" but they deny that claim. I can no longer handle it anymore since they'd brainwashed me in the past and I feel so much guilt. I wish patriarchy was treated as it actually is... as…

It's very sad seeing what is happening to so many men and in my experience, most men are "the good ones" and feminists think the mysognistic, powerful ones are basically "all men".
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates14/01/26 03:42 AM

I agree and thank you for still acknowledging mysogyny still exists. I want to help men, but as a woman who identifies as a cultural feminist (not a radical one tho i used to be radical) there seems to be too many mras even on here who think mysogyny no longer exists and women have no systematic or social oppression, etc like...acknowledgment goes both ways and western society is far from perfect for any gender.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates14/01/26 03:37 AM

It's true as a woman myself I wholeheartedly agree with this. Men should see our side of the story before coming to conclusions. This isn't about ignoring their experiences, it's about making sure they don't ignore ours either.

Women's issues should be acknowledged and taken seriously, and so should men's.

This makes alot of sense. Today I listened to obscure "girly" teen pop from early 2000s (its for my childhood nostalgia). I noticed some of the lyrics, if genders were reversed, would not even be allowed to play. The lyrics seem to have a narrative that in relationships, men are disposable while women are the queens/angels. Men are always horrible people, while women are perfect angels. Imagine if male singers sang negative stuff about women and about male superiority? They'd get negative feedba…

About the pay gap, if there was maternity leave for women, shouldn't there be payed maternity leave in every job, and shouldn't jobs women tend to do be payed better? Tbh, I feel many jobs that don't involve intense physical labor (eg., nursing, daycare worker, teaching, retail, restaurant, grocery, etc) should be payed alot better too because they truly are important. Also, affordable or free daycare is a huge topic right now, since many parents/caregivers cannot afford daycare for their young …

This makes sense, not an excuse, but I can see the connections now. Also that sounds like gender essentialism if some feminists believe in men being inherently toxic or that any form of "masculinity" is toxic. I thought feminists believe "toxic masculinity" or whatever they wanna call it is cultural not inherent. There's also not enough accessible mental health resources anywhere, which is not a good thing. And men are expected to just do it on their own? I hope mental health professionals don't…

I am feeling more and more empathy for men because their problems hardly get attention and they're just seen as monsters I notice. You're right that we should help eachother, we're all human.

Yeah I wish people focused on the the far-right being at fault instead of men.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/01/26 02:05 AM

What feminists and everyone in general should really focus on getting rid of the far-right because they are pretty much everything bad that's happening right now. It's insane that many people aren't getting to the actual root of modern mysogyny and instead solely blaming it on men and young boys. Many if not most men don't believe in nor act on these mysognistic ideologies, so why are people focusing on men/boys instead of the far-right being the problem??
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/01/26 12:39 AM

I'm on the exact same boat as you! We definitely gotta protect women/girls and their rights/safety because of the far-right's mysognistic ideologies literally going into politcs. But we also cannot treat the opposite gender like they're "all bad" or else it's probably gonna cause even more problems for us all.

I believe we need a healthy feminism, but first we need to get rid of the far right because I feel like it's causing men to believe in harmful narratives such as anti-feminism and sometimes anti-women. Tate and Trump are definitley both far-right woman-haters. Once we get rid of mysognistic ideologies (and mysognists) then we can focus on forming a healthy type of egalitarian femimism where it's about equality for women and not about man hating. However, as a woman myself I do feel Tate, Trump, …

As a woman, I do believe there is still a "ghost of patriarchy" and it has gotten stronger lately with the far right rhetoric. However, I still do not believe that most men are evil and hate women. That was the case in the 50s/60s and before, and also in underdeveloped countries, and women are worried that countries like the US will go backwards when it comes to women's safety. I can understand both sides. I really don't think women who are trying to protect themselves hate men, they're just sca…

I can see where you're coming from but with what has been happening politically in the US, I can empathize with women being very scared right now. Not that all men are evil, but women try to keep themselves safe right now. But I can also empathize with innocent men for how they're feeling right now too with the modern far-left radical feminism. They say there's two sides to every story. I think the far left affects men negatively and the far right affects women negatively.

I feel like women who do that might have gone through truama from man/men, so she might be just being cautious because that's what traumatized victims do and it's understandable. I think the problem comes from when modern feminism tells women even ones who aren't traumatized to be very very scared of men who are walking down the street minding their own business. Maybe it's just me but femimism treats it as if almost every man is violent nowadays like they were a long time ago and still is in un…

I think it's good that they're paying attention to women's rights and women's issues, women NEED that. But, why at the expense of men's needs? Shouldn't UN teach us that focusing on our needs shouldn't also take away others needs? It should be about everyones needs being met. My needs being met, and yours being met equally.

Wow, that hit me hard having been in the true crime community. Is that really what influencers are doing....using TRUE crime stories involving PROVEN victims and REAL evidence of REAL criminals having done these horrific crimes.....to share a narrative that men are evil and "believe all women"?? What?? I wonder how the victims families feel about their loved ones' stories often being shared without their permission. I don't think I should be part of that community anymore because I literally am …

As a woman, I have been in and out of the true crime community. However, I notice a pattern of true crime stories and how these cases usually involve a man hurting a woman, is that done intentionally, or is violence against women done alot more often? Maybe I unconsciously turn to true crime to learn about what women can face, even if it's not an intentional reasoning? I notice more and more how true crime is kind of a feminist topic, even if "violence against women" often isn't mentioned. I'm n…

I often hear about women who are mothers who have to care for the kids AND work full-time AND worry about everything else. Nowadays, mothers are pressured to be providers AND gatherers. Mothers lack support systems in societybecause women aren't valued enough. On the other hand, I hear about how men have it SO MUCH EASIER. They only have to worry about work and helping out the mother, not having to do the majority of the housework or planning or gathering. They don't face the same pressure women…

But why does society care about women more than men? Is it because we deal with patriarchal problems while men don't?

If men and women have problems of similar size, how come most institutions in the west, including socialist-based charity institutions, universities, and workers rights commities, seem to believe women have more problems than men when it comes to how women are affected by capitalism and poverty? And how come they're able to prove that with research-based evidence?

It does make sense and yeah I notice that far-left and far-right rehetoric is almost identical in the way they see others they're opposed to. Feminists are really good at putting us women into a rabbit hole and the scarey thing is that many colleges/universities and non profit/charity organizations support this rhetoric. Maybe I'm just sensitive but it feels very hateful yet so easy to fall into if we're not careful. It is very sad.

It's not an easy thing to do in other places. I remember wanting to get away from feminism a few years ago, but everything that wasn't femimist was centre-right, so I was center right for a while only to realize that the left had some good points. So I decided to lean left again like I used to but then I easily fell back into the feminist rabbit hole because of the very real threat towards women's rights due to the far-right. So then I decided to be angry at men because I felt if it wasn't for t…

Yeah, lately as a white ciswoman, I've been trying to have the LGBTQ+ inclusive mindset without hating on men/masculinity because lately these progressive spaces on social media have been toxic to cis men. I'm trying to unlearn this toxic anti men mindset I've been brainwashed into since my childhood and teenage years because I can no longer handle the hatred in my heart. Yeah, it's very sad that there isn't enough empathy for men. I'm trying to get out of this rabbit hole in a world that doesn't want me to empathize with men and boys as much as I do towards other women and girls. Everywhere I go, even universities now, want me to be anti-men? Is it just me thinking this or am I brainwashed like trusted feminist resources say I am??

There are many kind compassionate men who truly care about women (and everyone else) and their rights. I can't believe a textbook would say that! Imagine if it said something negative about women like that?? Is this legit popularly accepted in today's society??

I consider myself a feminist and I almost went down their rabbit hole because of crap I saw on social media, other outlets, and also stuff I heard from others. I think feminism in its original form was/is very good for women, it's good society knows about womens issues and how we could fix them. But for some reason society forgot about everyone else, forgetting men are human too, and also that not all men are bad/there are many kind compassionate men (modern femimists seem to hate that mentality…

I think that if there is as much empathy for men as there is for women in society, it will benefit everyone because we will be dismantling systems that cause both women's and men's societial issues, since everything truly is connected imo.

Yeah, if men welcome us here, why can't men also be a part of feminist spaces, too? I think that benefits feminism alot more because we all need to work together not only for women's rights, but equality for everyone, and that includes men. There are plenty of men who believe and actively partipate in feminism/women's rights, and a growing amount of women care about men's issues too. We don't have to give up one side of the other.
