As others mentioned, this is from 2018, and ultimately failed due to outside (US-based) pressure. Specifically the Anti-Defamation League essentially made open threats to Icelands tourism industry, saying they would be associated with Neo-Nazism, “even if that association is not justified”. You should clarify this. “70% of perpetrators are female” is not what the article says. Per the abstract you cited, about half of the violent relationships were reciprocally violent. Of the half that were not reciprocally violent, women were perpetrators 70% of the time. If you average it out, of relationships with violence, women are violent in 60% of them and men are violent in 40%. But that’s a meaningful enough distinction to why you claimed that you should clarify.

There is a massive asymmetry between the amount of women who are harassed/assaulted and the number of men who are violent like that. There was a Swedish study that looked at tens of thousands of men over the course of ~30 years and they found that about 2/3 of male violent crime was committed by only the top 1% most violent men. This is true, but phimosis only occurs in ~1% of males aged 16+. $20 steroid creams have been shown to resolve phimosis 90-95% of the time. Additionally, phimosis can often be caused by unnecessary forced retraction earlier in life. Finally, there are less severe surgeries (i.e., preputioplasty, aka the dorsal slit) that widen the prepuce, but don’t actually remove any tissue. There’s a lot of papers out there that try to quantify the number/proportion of actual sexual assaults that never get reported to police. This is important research. However, I haven’t seen anything on the number of false accusations/threats that never get reported to the police. It certainly needs to be considered. Hardly anyone talks about this. It’s admittedly super challenging, if not near-impossible, to quantify this precisely.

One aspect that uniquely seems to affect men is whether you’re intact vs circumcised (depending on what part of the world you live in and if infant/child MGM is practiced there). It’s really shitty to be criticized for something natural/an unnecessary surgery you didn’t consent to. There is some parallel between this and the recent rise of cosmetic labiaplasty in the west, but this isn’t forced on girls as infants without their consent. Edit: corrected typo

By even arguing “not all men”, you’ve already fallen into a self-inflicted Kafka trap. Very few men (and very few people) in general are awful like that. By arguing “not all men”, you’re subtly implying that the majority of men are like this, which is nonsense. There are a lot of issues where women get the short end of the stick, and many feminists were trying to change this because everyone should be equal. I agree wholeheartedly with this. This is potentially disturbing. I’d like to see the actual data they have (especially to evaluate all the uncertainties) before making any claims. I doubt anything is going to change drastically, but being able to analyze it yourself is always a plus.

I’m also completely okay with women going topless in public. That being said. I don’t think men’s and women’s chests should be treated 100% the same. If you grabbed a woman’s chest without her consent, you’d rightly be charged with groping/some sexual harassment/assault charge. If you grabbed a man’s chest without his consent, you would never be charged with any sexual crime.
