Some women never lose that teenage insecurity thing (something that she found both absurd very annoying in some of her friends). Those old ladies that were annoying in train were like that, all dressed the same, all with glittery expensive bags, and only finding their confidence in being with a group. Its mostly shyness making young women seem cold. Where I live there isn't much holding doors as a custom so when it happens young people are either confused or they thank you.
