Rule or preference?I always gauge how comfortable she is by (smoothly through escalation) playing with her hair a little and seeing how she responds. If I get good vibes a few mins later I'll literally just tell her I'm gonna kiss her soon as part of the ongoing relaxed conversation. Again: read to see if she's vibing to opt out or not. Then, between a few seconds to a few minutes later I'll lean in and go for it based on if and when she seems comfortable with the idea. Pause to think about what to say. Commit to what you say. Don't go back on things just because she disagrees. Playfully discuss and come to a shared understanding.
