100% !! I fell into this trap with my ex husband. I was so attached to his kids & their mom was dumb as a box of rocks and made things beyond difficult but I could never understand why he walked away from them. Fast forward to our kid and divorce — guess what I spend most of my time arguing with him about? Being there for our kid like a proper dad!!!

Wow. Did you just leave? I would’ve been so irritated I don’t think I could have stuck around. I tried to communicate lunch plans work great to meet up and see if we click & I get met with but evening plans are so much sexier. Puke. I don’t particularly want to eat with anyone but damn if I am gonna get all ready for some dude with no plans when I have a TON of other things I could be doing! Respect my time, thanks.

I am so turned off by men who suggest talking on a third party app, especially snap or instagram. Maybe I am old? But my damn kid uses those. Ughh.

Thank you. <3 You are so right. I keep hoping one day I’ll just forget to think about him & that whole experience. It’s made me gun shy about men in general now for sure. At least I know what to look out for now, learning the hard way, and thankfully posts like this giving me heads up on stuff that never would have crossed my mind! I am trying to keep an open mind about the future though. :)

Sad to say I have experienced this too. And I thought we were great friends, even the ones who expressed feelings and boundaries were established for the sake of so-called maturity.

This is horrific. I am sitting here thinking about how I married my “best friend” & how flabbergasted the things that meant a lot to me weren’t enough to cement our intimacy. Ultimately, mentall illness on his part ended our relationship but now I am sitting here like… I really valued him being there for me when I was sick and hosiptialized. Did it mean anything to him? I valued when he’d bring me my favorite drink whenever he got one for himself. Was that just some male thing buddies do? I aske…

I have been seeing so much of this in my area & was wondering why! Zodiac for men haha also a lot of them bragging about being in the marijuana or crypto industry blehhhh

Whew! Just in time. These holidays were starting to drag me down. Am I the only one that doesn’t like to be in a relationship during “cuffing” season? :P

It’s hard to feel smart when I had to leave behind two of my sisters, one of which was close in age & the other an infant. She never forgave me for abandoning them & I thought of myself as selfish for running away. I knew that being gone meant they would take on more abuse I could have spared them. I thought I was a hero for sticking around and protecting them but I got to the point where I was looking around at all these adults who were supposed to love and protect me and a system that was ulti…

I came to this conclusion while going through therapy and it hurt so much. I left when I was 12 years old because of the way my mother treated me & was ordered by the court to visit her which resulted in physical and sexual abuse by her boyfriend/husband. I could never get over the fact that not only did she call me a liar when I was brave enough to confront him but that she allowed it to happen to me. I think she enjoyed it. I’m pretty sure she has a personality disorder — Borderline, maybe? An…

I am trying to imagine living the same way. I guess bra size is the closest I can think of. So sad. I do know one guy with a legit small dick who isn’t a misogynist, which is kinda nuts when I recall some of his girlfriends, haha.He is definitely an outlier though. :( I cannot stand guys who’s whole personality revolves around the size of their dick! Nobody. Cares. Can we get a neon sign for them?! Maybe then they’ll get it through the right head.

I straight up didn’t believe him and got out a tape measure. Real small and unassuming guy otherwise too!

Seriously. Micropenis over there can chill. Even then, there is somebody out there into it. Dick is not the end all, be all.

lol I always find that this is such a silly debate because it’s so personal. Like what is big for you, is small for somebody else? We all have different preferences on what feels good. Then you have to take in account the man himself… For example, I fucked a 12inch dick and it was awful. He was awful. But what if that 12incher was on a dude I was head-over-heels for and knew all the right moves to use on me?? The world may never know… Smdh.

Yup. I am asking any guy I take seriously to take a legit background check. I’m not playing anymore.

I am so glad that the male members of my family aren’t like this because I would 100% have lost faith in the male gender and lived an asexual life. I am practically there already though lmaooo That’s not to say they’re perfect dudes, but they set an example of the bare minimum of what I expect and I spent so much of my young dating life being absolutely baffled by this common behavior. Like really, my guy — that’s your trauma?! My brother’s mother was a druggy and our dad was a clueless idiot so…

It’s true. My female friends who do this make me feel so special. <3 Of course with my sister being a lesbian I have seen the darker side of the female + female dynamic lol I just wish the world was kinder. Sigh.

It makes me question if anyone ever truly loved me. Do I even know what that feels like? Would I even recognize it? This is such a shit thing to do to somebody. You end up believing there is something fundamentally wrong with you & this is where you belong when it couldn’t be further from the truth. I hope anyone who reads her post and says “same” takes it to heart and RUNS! Seriously. I know I am attracted to these types because my mother is borderline but the only reason I ever recognized it w…

This makes me so sad. Where are the guys that would be thrilled if I brought him a random flower? Some little meaningful token, obviously specific to the relationship. Why can’t they appreciate that! :(

It’s funny you mention this. I didn’t think much of it until last night. I went on a terrible date. He wanted to keep the conversation via text limited so we would have something to talk about over dinner. Alright. I am not a big fan of dinner dates but he had a plan & that was appealing and I need more practice not being awkward myself. So there we are and he is spilling his guts about his long term ex & how he has only been on a couple dates with all these horrible traumas that were really per…

This! Also, I am a real fan of 100/100 so even if one of you starts slipping you’re still putting in more then the bare minimum into the relationship. That’s why “acts of service” are so meaningful to me!

I can’t say I agree with this. I used to hit up the LBQT+ clubs with my lesbian sister, her girlfriend & my gay friends & the rudeness from gay and/or bisexual men was ridiculous. I had guys straight grabbing my crotch and I never even so much as looked at them. Eventually it became too uncomfortable for me and I stopped going. There was this vibe of “anything goes” with that crowd and I wasn’t having it. If they figured out I was straight my treatment was even worse. Definite shade thrown my wa…

Ugh, I feel you! I used to give guys a pass because they were more mathematically inclined whereas I’m weaker in that area but not anymore. If you can’t see the value in literature there is something wrong with you & that’s a HARD pass! ;)

Aw! I love this. I have a large tank and have taught one of my angel fish to eat from my hand. Let me tell you how special I feel every time I walk in the room and that fish gets excited!! I enjoy watching my aquarium vs TV, it’s so relaxing and meditative. It’s definitely considered a hobby. Enjoy!!

This! Thanks for the reminder to get back into it. Weightlifting is seen as so masculine & it’s a shame because it’s very transformative to build up strength you didn’t know you have. Definitely a level up!

I decided I’m not gonna date another guy who thinks books and/or cats are lame. I noticed a lot of the men I do respect are avid readers and enjoy cats. Gotta be something there, lol!

Nope! You did the right thing. Don’t give this guy any more of your tears. I worked as a florist so I know the stupidity that is Valentine’s Day but that is ZERO excuse to make you feel special. I don’t care if he doesn’t have a job. Go to the damn dollar store, buy yourself a pen and a pad of paper and write a heartfelt poem ffs! Nah, he did you a favor showing you who he really is. Chin up!! <3

Apologies if I missed this, but are there alternatives to dinner dates? I am drawing a blank with Covid keeping so much closed still in my location. I also don’t drink for health reasons so I turn those down already. I really don’t enjoy food either & always feel so meh about those dates but now starting to appreciate he planned the whole thing & never expected me to pay. I am horrified at some of the stories I have been reading on here! Every one of you deserves better!! <3

Thanks for reminding me why I’ve never been game to try Tinder! That being said, I am 50/50 on these other apps. Even when things are going well they sabatoging themselves. I just don’t get it.
