I believe there is a line that anyone can tread between the dogmatic, oppression seeking feminism that appears to be a problem in the minds of the young and impressionable, but it's also important to recognise that by it's definition, those ill-founded ideas are not actually representative of what feminism is for. I think our fight is against the same thing, against groups and individuals who want to gain advantage on the claim of oppression, it's just that while vehemently disagreeing with that…

Yes. At least from my experience, I can't. It's about upholding and appreciating the rights. And of course fighting for those rights in other countries.

I mean, if I didn't limit it to that, the definition could have come from anywhere. It works vice versa with Men's Rights. Feminism has taken on a weight of ill-founded ideology, and we can agree that there are a lot of bad ideas floating around feminism, but my whole point is that I don't identify with that, and that those ideas stray from the core definition of what feminism is.

It's not discriminatory, it's individuals that are discriminatory, not the causes themselves. There is no goal of the official definition of feminism that is discriminatory, just the same as MRM. As for your first point, yes, it would have been awful. No one should be made to go through that and they should be recognised for their suffering. But if you're going to suggest that men suffered more, therefore feminism is wrong, you're turning it into a dick measuring contest. Both men and women have…

I feel like it sometimes becomes a dick measuring contest. I also think that many members don't acknowledge the struggles of women, on the pretense that men have also struggled; now, and throughout history. It works vice versa. We should learn to acknowledge each others problems and work towards fixing them, instead of pulling out our dicks or trying to get vengeance.

I think those things are terrible. I would certainly hope that most Feminists would not agree with at least the last 3 points (I don't know enough to comment on the first), although I don't have enough information relating to the popularity of those ideas. The straw man is that you paint all feminists into one box, as a result of some extremely concerning ideas that have been floated and supported by people who consider themselves feminists.

I think we've done a great job and women and men are seen more equally in the public eye these days, at least in western society. We're both able to vote, own property, and can aspire to any career that we so choose. That's pretty awesome. I don't think that would have been achieved without people standing up for women's rights. Hell, both of my sisters are doing better than me financially right now. It's important to stand up for the validity of these rights because there are a lot of people wh…

That's fine, but I don't think so. I think some people and their ideas that they link with feminism can be toxic, but for me it's a matter of pursuing the definition, which is supporting women's rights. I also support men's rights, and I also acknowledge that some of the people and ideas linked with men's rights can be toxic. It's a matter of perspective.

I don't agree with the comics, as I think they paint a blinding straw-man of what feminism is about. That being said, I hate censorship more.

I mean, if you want emotional and intellectual gratification you might want to explore people with mutual interests, rather than scoping out Tinder. You must a very attractive person if you manage to sleep with people you consider attractive. So get out and find that emotional gratification. If you're sick of sleeping around, stop and wait until you find someone who you can really open up to. By all means keep sleeping around if you want to, but from this post it sounds like you're suffering for…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
