Okay, I didn't fully understand your point before. Specifically the term "gender expression" is pretty vague. I'll have to let those more knowledgable than I discuss those aspects of gender expression. I know I did pick some idiosyncrasies compared to my "birth gender" that were pointed out and I have made a more pointed effort to appear male despite the fact I felt anything but.

And just wanted to add, I would posit that this is why there are anamolies in cis and transgender people who run counter to gender norms. A very obvious example is cis lesbian women who's gender expression is considered typically masculine. I'd argue it's not because her biology tells her to do so, but rather, in her subculture, it is socially acceptable for her to appear masculine without throwing her gender into question (at least with those whose opinions matter to her, prospective mates, etc…

There seems to be some miscommunication here. Generally gender expression, at least in the trans community, means how someone expresses theirselves in conforming to gender roles and is usually informed by someone's gender identity. Gender identity is an innate sense of gender based on many subtle clues and is mostly recognizable when there is incongruence.
