I'm inclined to agree. Most men i know care more about stability and loyalty than emotion and passion. I think rp men are scared to commit from the understanding that most women are more interested in hypergamy, getting what they want now, than building something that will last. Ive heard anecdotally that men and women keep log differently too. One man might count the things, another the days, etc. Same with women, objects/ times/ dates. So i think it's a little hard to relate some things, hence the rule. Definitely agree it has come in handy, and been evident in, my past and current relationships.

I have a feeling op is referring to adolescence and social conditioning as making someone less dominant unless supported or honed. I dont think it's a matter of impossibility as it is improbability. I think it paints a visceral picture, but for many women i know this is pretty much the case. I know more women going through several strs a year than women having one ltr for a year.
