I assure you I've sought out other hobbies. I've tried rock climbing, working out at the gym, parties and bars and clubs and spinning poi and partner dance classes and everything else that's occurred to me. Sure, and when the things you want to do include going to raves and clubs, that sounds like it'll work out fine. But when the things I want to do include staying at home playing video games and going to Magic tournaments, that's not going to work out so well. I can't remember the last time a single girl showed up to either.

Really? Nothing? So that whole "right to vote thing" doesn't count? Abortion rights? You could maybe make a case that feminism is, on the whole, harmful. But to say that it hasn't done anything good is either laughably ignorant or despicably dishonest.

That's one possible interpretation of the story you've told, although judging by some of the other comments in this thread, if they divorced earlier they'd get plenty of money anyway. Another possible explanation is that they're staying in the marriage to provide the kids involved with a full set of parents. Sticking through a marriage they no longer want because it's best for the kids. How dare they.
