This is from http://www.thisiswhyimbroke.com/ which has all joke and novelty gifts. Hence, this is a joke, I suggest you take it as one.

I'm probably too late in telling you this but if you copy the headline- "Men's poor mental health costs economy $3bn" into Google and then click the link from The Australian you can read the full article.

I sure hope you are joking because that's an awful lot of nonsense.

Well we don't have freedom of speech, so this is pretty normal really.

Universities and high schools in Australia these days are very much feminine and feminist driven institutions (I know, I attend the University of Sydney). The longer we ignore these kind of statistics, the more we are disadvantaging boys and men.

I had to laugh at the judge's hypocrisy when he says that Byron isn't a champion of the first amendment, then says Byron had a pattern of defying a court's order to say something he didn't want to, didn't write and didn't believe.

Shit man TIL... There are a bunch of women/girls gender specific days on that list and not a single men's/boys one that I could see..

Do I have to say it? Imagine the uproar if the gender roles were reversed.

That's also what I'd like to see darkhindu. i haven't had time to read all the articles/cases (hey I'm on reddit at work), but a reply from this same story that's cross posted on r/Australia says- "I did read it. The 24 year old spent 5 months in police custody, the 19 year old was 18 at the time and was put on a two year supervision order. The 22 year old one though, I'll give you that. Never the less, I'd love to read the court proceedings and see how the woman was presented by her council." S…

Thanks very much for your reply. As I said in my email but probably did not say with enough clarity, my major qualm was that the topic had been taught as "gender" and human rights, yet there was no mention of the historical meaning of the term, the highly problematic contemporary meaning and definitely no mention of any men's specific issues. I think I failed to mention that my lecturer is actually a women, and we are actually nearing the end of the semester in Sydney, Australia (sorry if I soun…

Thanks for your response. This was really my main problem with the topic, as the lecture and reading material literally made no mention of the history of the word 'gender' and its evolution to its contestable contemporary meaning, and for the lecturer to not even mention this or any men's issues was, in my view, misleading and dishonest. Thanks!

Thanks so much for your very detailed response. I should point out though that my lecturer is in fact a woman :). My apologies, I probably should have been a bit clearer about that. As I said in the email, my real qualm was that the topic had been masqueraded as a week on "gender" and human rights, yet there was absolutely no mention of the historical meaning of this term, or the hugely contestable modern discourse on the term these days. I was particularly disheartened though that there was not…
