36	Abused Men Get No Help I reached out to a domestic abuse hotline asking for help, and they essentially implied I was delusional and told me I should get evaluated by a mental health professional. I reached out again, telling the exact same story, but identified myself as a woman instead of a man, and they were incredibly empathetic and offered information on tons of different resources. –	The US suicide rate has reached a 30 year high and remains nearly 4 times higher among men compared to women. Yet this article seems most concerned with the increase among women. I once had a feminist explain to me that the male suicide rate is actually a result of male privilege.
