AI is not smart enough to take over most jobs right now. Where we will be in 20 years vs now is unpredictable to a point. The computer geeks I know are both excited and terrified with the possibilities AI has in store for us. The largest factor is whether or not society decides to progress into the future or regress into the 1950s. The less people we have educated in IS the less it will progress. All in all, the potential is there, what will actually happen vs what we predict, well, we can only …

The money issue wasn’t the focus of my argument, nor was it what backed my stance on the trophy wife trope. As I said, my entire understanding of trophy wives was that they’re always more attractive and less intelligent than their (often) older husband; this being their main, if only, value. While men’s value has socially been driven by their income and what they can provide, which is expressed extensively in the paragraph right after the part you quoted. But I digress, because income isn’t my f…

People underestimate what technology is going to do all of the time. What you’re talking about is people not predicting precisely what we can come up with or when we will do it within a certain time frame. People are already having full on conversations with AI that are meaningful to them; people are crazy( I.e, the dudes who have full on relationships with their blow up dolls) You seem to be forgetting that AI is designed to adapt and learn and we are designing AI to fulfill an intellectual nee…

Interesting take on the "Trophy Wife" trope, for sure. Unfortunately, I don't see any references to back up the thought process presented in the article, although I can see the angle from which the author is coming. To be fair, it's difficult to find any true "studies" on the Trophy Wife phenomenon itself, apart from the origin of the term. (There is also a study that needs to be purchased to understand its contents: https://www.arts.auckland.ac.nz/en/about/news/2015/04/aestheticism-and-the-marr…

I think people aren’t understanding how fast technology evolves now days. Your scenario isn’t talking about next year or even 10 years from now, but give it a good 30/50 years and I think you’ve absolutely hit the nail on the head. I do think that men will also find AI relationships that suit their needs. Men are currently the ones having full on relationships with sex dolls and a massive majority already want robotic women who cook, clean, fuck, and don’t talk at all. More women seem to desire …

“Women pick a partner to parade “her catch” around.” … umm what? That’s what men do, it’s why the Trophy Wife is such a huge stereotype.

All women have had to put up with this garbage. This isn’t new. Shit just 50, even 20-30 years ago and sometimes still today In rural communities cops ignore a woman being beaten by her husband because “he’s gotta control his wife”. Women have only recently been able to protect themselves from harassment and violence by men. If you need to protect yourself from a grimey old woman, you listen to other women who’ve been through it. OP voicing his boundaries isn’t going to get him a violent tag. Al…

Welcome to the daily struggle of being a woman. The label “crazy” follows us around like a putrid stench. As a woman, who’s been harassed, this is the best I’ve (and my friends) found one can do in this situation. You either get loud and stand up for yourself and be brave or let the abuse continue. There’s not many options beyond that. And court orders might as well be notarized by a fish

I don’t know any feminists that say these things, maybe you should meet one and talk to them.

I’m sorry to hear. Honestly just keep saying the same thing and be loud about it. The angrier you are and the more you raise your voice telling her to stop, especially around others, the higher your chances are of her stopping or someone else putting her in her! place. I’d say something like, “You’re creeping me out with your verbal sexual harassment, just like the older men that make young girls feel uncomfortable! Stop it! It’s not funny or cute.” ! Edit: said your instead of her place.

Feminist here. Men absolutely deal with gross shit like this. Just call her out and say she’s being like a creepy old man. Put it into perspective. No one should have to deal with sexual abuse

Yeah OK.. bi girl here. Gender and sexuality clearly doesn't determine how good one is in bed. Some gays suck in bed some straights suck in bed, it's about finding the person who works with you. Shmeh

I've been followed, harassed, forced upon by someone I thought was a friend and had it all over looked. "He likes you" "this stuff doesn't happen" "well if women didn't drink".. my male friend was date raped and everyone brushed it off cause he's a guy. Instead of people recognizing that individuals are assholes, we like to brush rape under the rug. By experience it, I have personally been affected by people's ignorance to a real problem.

Thank you. I'm constantly pushing for men's rights and going against the extreme feminism women spout. But I had to attend this march, because I believe in equality and being a woman I have experienced the sexism and the rape culture. Since this election, the amount of hate I've personally debated against about blacks, woman, and immigrants alike is appalling. Those who still believe those outrageous things need to know we are here and the progress the whole world has made is incredible and won'…
