This is what passes for a major feminist issue in 2018. I think they're the same level of essential levela. And if males needed tampons too id have no problem with the GST being on it. The problem is its a gst, a tax, on something only a subset need. If toilet paper was only used by men, I'd argue it shouldnt have a tax either. Except some things where we decide it's essential. That essential is a complicated quagmire of weirdness. Fruits and veges, drugs etc. The sanitary products are also exempt from the GST - EXCEPT for nappies and female sanitary products, which are exempt from the exemption.
