Ngl I wear a thick beard out of laziness primarily (minimal upkeep, a squirt of beard oil every now and then). The fact that I get props from both men and women just enables me to keep it going I often imagine that if I wanted to put my "best face forward" to society I'd stand in front of the mirror with a shaver every morning. Kinda like women and make up. But... meh... And btw I like when women wear minimal to no makeup

My high status friend began dating a barista a while ago. Since they've gone steady, she's started taking classes to up-skill into a very lucrative career. And together they've cultivated crafting hobbies which are both gratifying and potentially lucrative (if they wanted to monetize). Maybe the most high-status quality a man can have is to elevate those whom he brings into his life noggin tap

Feels like everyone chiming in here is sharing a narrative that they’ve built in their head about how the world works based on their own very subjective lived experience. I expect the reality is that... across all socio economic classes... there is a pretty much the same (normal) distribution of personality traits among men and women that make them more or less suceptible to hooking up, cheating, aggressiveness, etc (speaking about Big 5 personality traits). Speaking from a male perspective, reg…

You may be right on it being overused, but it definitely has a meaning, although nuanced. It's like a mixture of responsibility and honesty. Accountability means believing in the power of your thoughts and actions to shape the outcomes of your life (not magically but practically through cultivating habits and perseverance) . And it means not shying away from acknowledging the negative thoughts/beliefs/actions you brought into your life which led to undesirable outcomes. If you take accountabilit…

Yep. the Hinge algorithm will show you partners in an effort to maximize the likelihood of a mutual match. So your friend was probably swiped down by many hotties in Hinge, and now Hinge is showing him women who are more likely to match with him in the event he liked them. The way to improve the quality of women he's seeing on Hinge is to improve his profile so that more high-quality women like his profile.

So you're saying that you exhibited a lot of attractive, responsible behaviors not out of genuine care and emotion towards the woman, but out of a sense of paranoia and manipulative impulses? And that the only difference between you and incel (other than looks), is that an incel's introversion causes his paranoia and manipulative impulses to be directed inward (and online), rather than outwardly engaging with women?

This discussion reminds me of the great magical realism novel 1Q84 by Murakami, in which the main character, a young kick-ass sexy woman, has an attraction to middle aged, slightly balding men. That always gave me hope for the future, even before I know my hair was thinning.

huge setback lol huge by what standard? Nothing wrong with a clean shaved head. Or else strategic placement of caps/beanies. That's more than enough to get your foot in the door attraction-wise with a woman. And then if she comes to like you more, the baldness will not be a deal breaker (if it ever was in the first place)

This is a good psychological profile of an incel Behaviorally speaking, I'd also say an unwillingness to take accountability for his social/romantic situation in life. A fear of stepping outside his comfort zone and facing rejection

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
