This is a serious misreading of events. Many acts which are crimes in most countries are still fully legal against women in India, such as arranged marriage to a child, forcing her into sex and then beating her if she doesn't please you. This is only since 2013 however. Before that all manner of sexual and domestic violence was fully legal. In no way are men disadvantaged in India.
