Yes haha, clear up how you don't see the two things are 100% correlated. The petition is that high because of the news articles, but also the petition drives attention on reddit and creates news articles (like this very thread even existing? Because of the petition). I'll keep it simple for you. Bad press makes them consider rehiring if there is a risk of sales losses. Petitions are one of many forms of bad press, they are not the only factor, they are a factor.

Real laws don't change because of petitions, you ain't petitioning to deport Bieber. Company's love good press though, so petitions work for them. She's fired? Great news. Free positive press for the company and they get to pretend they were doing it out of a moral obligation instead of the outcry.

I never said it was my fault either, and 'coddled into subservience' sounds like you did say it was a problem. Why are you so quick to want to avoid blame? Do you expect to fix something without knowing how it's wrong?

If the cause is lack of discipline and codling who is to blame there? Kids don't parent themselves, older generations introduce participation awards then complain about a generation of kids who grew up winning participation awards.

Is the difference between "I met her in person first" and "I'd spoken to her not in person, then met her in person" really matter? Sure I get it, saying that you met online doesn't sound as cool. But does anyone actually care how cool your introduction story is? I don't date much, but I've had relationships that started from meeting in person and someone I met online. After the first few weeks you don't care how you met, you're dating the same either way.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
