lest they be robbed of the potential for marital happiness, which 50% of people do enjoy. So if half the population is married, and half of married people enjoy being married, then roughly only a quarter of the population actually enjoy being married, ergo, not all that its cracked up to be...

And it really won't bother me much if she is pregnant or not. It wouldn't be mine so what do I care? I've got no responsibility. It's not gonna hurt me, financially or otherwise, so why not? You are sure assuming a whole lot here. Don't just assume something you haven't had verified by a court. You'd be surprised what you could be made responsible for.

From a contract standpoint, would you enter into a binding legal agreement with someone that required you to be responsible to support them without the other party having the same required of them?

Just keep in mind, you get what you pay for. So if you want "image" you are paying for that fancy office etc.

Man or woman receiving, alimony, should not be abolished it should be much more closely monitored. No. Marriage is a contract, a business. No party should leave a contract with the assets of the other party. You should get exactly what you put in to it. No more, no less.

I want to make her happy again. I'm honestly not trying to be mean with this comment, but this is a fools errand. Happiness comes from within. You can't "make" anyone happy. The extent of your capabilities is to be the best you can be, whether that be the best man you can be, the best father you can be, or the best husband you can be. The problem with seeking happiness outside of oneself is that all things are fleeting, possessions, experiences, relationships.

The first thing you need to figure out is what YOU want. Its been my experience that people don't tend to change. She has no reason not to continue prioritizing her job or what she wants. I say this because you seem to think she's already trying to set herself up to have the best position in divorce, so that prospect is not going get her to change. So, where do you want to live? What do you want your life to look like? Are you ok to continue with this relationship as it for the rest of your life…

What advice specifically are you looking for? I see a lot of statements, but no questions.

If she's not willing to help you handle the stress that's she's brought to the relationship, then she doesn't give you genuine affection and care.

That didn't make her a prostitute. I mean the only difference here is the piece of paper saying he's contractually obligated to take care of her while she's not obligated to provide sex. But on the whole, the differences aren't that large.

I just feel like my entire life has been wasted. The average life expectancy of an American man is 80+ these days. You haven't even reached the halfway point, and saying that your childhood and teenage years is a waste is probably stretching things a bit too far. I'd say at worst you've wasted 25% of your life. At best you might have wasted between 10-20%. Point being, a perspective shift can really help to start changing your outlook on things. Start small by accounting for the positives and li…

Reality is often sad. Trying to sugar coat it to make yourself feel better only distorts the truth. But as they say, ignorance is bliss.

You can disagree all you want, but factually speaking physical intimacy is literally the difference between someone living in your house as room mate and someone being your significant other. If you aren't having sex, then you might as well be sharing a bed with your sister. Because guess what, people love their siblings most of the time unconditionally, and the only real separation between that love and marriage love is the physical part.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
