I guess I can see it from that perspective, this isn't discrimination and them claiming that it is is kind of a PPD. This just sucks for everyone though and it seems like lots of people here are just enjoying seeing these people suffer. I like seeing a good justice-served kind of PPD but this seems like injustice to me. I don't want the kind of equality where we make things more shitty for both parties, I'd rather see more things like women being sent to jail for crimes on equal sentence as men,…

I'm for the equality part of it, but people are literally dying because of their lost pensions, at no fault of their own. They should have just lowered the age for men, or given women so close to retirement a "grandmother clause" to let them retire when they planned to.

This actually really sucks... I can't really get on the side of this change. I'd much rather they lower the age for men than surprise these elderly women by denying them access to their pension.

Sucks how everyone on the AITA thread is saying they're both in the wrong. Yeah, they're married and SHOULD have had a joint account from the start, but if the wife insisted on having separate accounts she should be okay with that regardless of who's making more money.
