I agree wholeheartedly. I do think that people today place too much importance in the intangible. I'm going to have to thank you for debating civilly, logically, and honestly, not many people do.

I unnderstand it's important to have a sense of self worth, but just as deriving it only from others can create problems, relying on oneself too much can also cause a false perception. Most of the time you over/underestimate yourself. Ultimately, other people are a very good metric to what kind of person you are. Kind people tend to be recognized, intelligent people as well. Women don't only have sex with men based on their looks. Personality tends to be even more important for women in one nigh…

Oh, definitely, if you have regrets it does mean you've grown. What I was saying was most of the men who do it are immature, and don't realize that it isn't attractive, and damn near all of them grow up as people and regret it. It is definitely a sign of growth, a very strong sign, I was simply saying that the men who do so haven't yet grown in a specific aspect.

It's not that we think these traits are good because it appeals to the opposite sex. It's the other way around, it appeals to the opposite sex BECAUSE these traits are good. Traits precede attraction. Please define over-obsession, what is the point at which is becomes too much. If we define that, it'll be much easier. Everything you said is true, depending on how you define over-obsession.

I don't think that makes sense. Sex is tied to a man's self-worth not because of the sex itself, but what it represents. More sex, a lot of sex, or even any and all, means you have the ability to get sex. And since most of the qualities that attract female sexual partners are qualities men want, good looks, a good personality, intelligence (long term). Sex signifies that you have qualities that make a man attractive, and most of the qualities that make a man attractive, make a man attractive bec…

You're probably right in that far too many men do this, but it's probably a very small percentage, most of whom eventually come to regret doing shit like that with age.

What makes you think we can psychologically reprioritize our strongest innate desires? All the clinical literature says that attempting to do so is repressive and harmful to the psyche. In the brain, it tends that the older functions, the more archaic ones, are the more fundamental, and more necessary to survive, which is why they tend to take precedence. The more generations a psychological phenomena occurs, the stronger it becomes. Abstract thought, therefore philosophy, is simply too new for …

The men who ask about their dicks on AMA are very young and self-conscious, it's a puberty thing, I'm pretty sure women are the same, maybe about different thingd. Maybe on different sites. In any case, men are very guarded about their dicks, and so also very conscious of them, especially at that age, which is why those questions are being posed. Men who send dick pics are very few and far between, it's just that there are a lot of people on the planet, so you're bound to see some. Most men, the…

Yes, we have placed more meaning on arbitrary milestones like virginity loss, but that is not the form of importance I'm talking about. Men then, and men now, work far more than they have to, because women like men who are willing to do so, and they like what comes with that work. I highly, highly doubt, that men would work as much, buy houses nearly as large, or simply be as productive if it wasn't for the fact that women want a man who is willing to do that. I, for one, would not be working mo…

Most men aren't naturally red-pilled either. I've yet to meet a man who became more optimistic, less pessimistic, about women as he gained experiences with them, romantically. Not to mention, women, according to women, are told from birth that men 'just want one thing'. Sexually, mothers explain to their daughters just how men are, and they do so very explicitly, and very often. Perhaps 16 yo you was naive, but that hardly means that most 16 year olds were the same way. Simply because you were n…

Maybe you do. What men believe isn't changed by that. Although if you could be more specific as to the thoughts or opinions that TRP people hold that you believe most men don't. Most men certainly aren't as extreme as TRP, but some of the milder ideas aren't uncommon, some may even be prevalent. Again, if I can provide insight, I need a specific belief, if you can.

I highly doubt it. All evidence we have points to that that sexual attraction, and all related feelings are a result of evolution. As far as evolution, there's a clear advantage for men competing, and women being the sexual selectors. And for men to place prime importance, as far as mates, in body and face composition. As well as for women to place prime importance on potential/ability (depending on age) to provide and protect.

I'm going to have to disagree. Sex being important to men is not an emergent phenomena. It's biological, most species exhibit it. Our civilization has not chosen to impose this on men, men simply find sex important because it's evolutionarily beneficial. Means we survive. Those are not the sexual values modern society has imposed on us, they're the sexual values that were best for survival. Men have high libidos because it means more offspring, and so we place importance on sex. Women have lower…

We really don't. Most men have never spoken with non-medical professional men about their dicks. Perhaps TRP is a biased sample.

Men's? As in all men? If you mean TRP people, then say them. I don't think it's particularly accurate to say men in general are intellectually dishonest.

I would say that men are more attracted to looks than women are. Both sexes find good looks attractive, but men place more importance on this then women.

To be fair, you wouldn't have as much of an insight on that as men. It's possible most of them, or at least quite a few, think like that.

You have a remarkable lack of self-awareness. That first paragraph had you disparaging men, or certain men, for seeing women only as sex objects. For not seeing women as whole people. The second paragraph starts with this: 'I used to try to see men as whole people.'

It's funny you use the example of being fat. The only real instance I can remember of a person blaming their obesity on others is the Mcdonalds suit. Plaintiffs being female. Or the whole 'unachievable standards cause depression causes anorexia or overeating'. This also, by women. Men do this too, often, especially the TRP men, but I do think that the idea of patriarchy, is far more commonly accepted by women, than the idea of 'women controlling the supply of pussy in order to control men' is am…

Nearly all urges can be repressed, doesn't make it healthy. And please don't assume men who wish that horrible shit as the norm. Many of them are mentally ill and/or barbarians. But all of them at least have some sort of psychological issue.

Of course you don't categorize men as alpha vs. Beta. And you say that you become attracted based on looks, personality, etc. And most women become attracted to those traits ad they become more dominant. Alpha and beta are bad terminology, but the concept of dominance/submissiveness, socially, is very real. And women prefer dominant men because they're better providers and protectors. No, not all women, but by and large, more dominant men have more women attracted to them.

Emotional needs are not quite as urgent as those that are physical, but they are as real and as important.

Except for the fact that, unlike the denial of sex, the pursuit of it IS biological impulse. It is natural, and healthy. Our species prospers in large part because men are incentivized to be productive so that they can have a lot of sex, and then eventually a meaningful relationship. And women, wanting productive men, are incentivized to give them that incentive. Having a lot of sex is a sign of worth for men. It is not worth itself. It's a sign of worth because men having a lot of sex tend stro…

Society isn't more than just a job? You do realize that the jobs these men do, from plumbing to engineering, keeps all the shit around you running. Look around the room, very little of what you have there would exist without someone's job. Sure there are some men who are inspired and create absolutely amazing things, like the Iphone, but most men, they'd work 20 hrs a week, and live in a shack if women weren't in the picture. And no, money is not the end goal, but a family is, and women provide …

And why do men want money? To survive, to live. And for most men, we want to live because of the future of a family. The end game of life, for men, is dying with a family that is both happy and provided for. If there is no chance of that, men are increasingly unmotivated, and will do whatever it takes to get by, and no more. Pussy is not the only reason men work, but it is by far the biggest reason that men work more than they absolutely must.

Well of course there isn't one cohesive sexual marketplace. But that doesn't mean you can't define individual sexual market value. There isn't one cohesive marketplace for ANY good/service. Value is heavily dependant on setting, culture, exposure, etc. It's no different in the sexual world. But that doesn't mean value can not be defined.
