Yeah, that's why I said "supposedly" - OP clearly thinks so, but I don't.

Couldn't expect you to know since OP somehow left out all the context. Except maybe the "Tackling Child Sexual Exploitation", but that's small print after the part that supposedly demonizes men.

If she inherently believes women and men are equal, I think it should only be a matter of a few thought experiments to get her to see that men can be and are raped. However, having the reinforcement of having made a generalization about guys and a classroom of guys (except for you) backed her up on it, it's going to be more cemented in her mind. Just think of all the times someone brings up the opinion of one member of the insulted group in question as defense. When someone makes a popular rape …

Yeah, like when feminists were outraged by all these posters here for daring to suggest that men can be victims of rape. Oh, wait, that never happened? They were fine? Drat.

I have never ever heard of a girl who was mistreated because she was raped. And Not in any first world country. Are the claims that were disproved by the cases I provided. I never claimed that the normal state of our society is to try banishing rape victims from their families. You are arguing against a nonexistent opposition.

Here is the story of an 8 year old child in Arizona who was gang raped and then abandoned by her family because they didn't want her anymore. Does this not count as mistreatment? Here is another girl from Indiana who became pregnant after her rape and was ostracized. Does this not count? I'm sure I could find more cases but right now I just feel sick given that these were kids and a gang-rape and yet the victims still got blamed and shamed for it.

A documentary... that isn't even made yet? Oh, sorry, I didn't realize it had to be done already, like all the zilch that the MRM has accomplished. How about all the feminists opposing male infant circumcision? What exactly is something tangible the MRM has done to help men? The MRM doesn't claim to deal with women's problems as well... and it also doesn't try to say that women don't have problems that need dealing with Actually, I frequently see MRAs on this subreddit and even the big-ticket MRAs suggesting that womens' "problems" are trifling or nonexistent, and go on to claim that those "problems" (if they admit their existence) can be solved, most frequently, by "treating women like fucking adults". You have a ton of feminists saying "we care about men too, so d…

No idea what your limits are? Stay home. Approximately 40% of rapes occur in the home, another 20% occur in the home of a friend, neighbor or relative, and another 10% occur in the victim's home parking complex/garage. At 70% of rapes, it almost seems safer to go out with stranger than stay home with people you know. Speaking of which... Here's the thing: I don't get drunk with lots of drunk strangers. You can't tell me what I mean. That's just a simple fact of life. Well, see, I actually can tell you what your words mean. Because tacking an "s" on the ends of words like "lecture" and "meeting" makes them, plural, which means there's more than one (we've been over this already). If you didn't mean to say that, then that's clearly not what you meant, but don't pretend it's my fault that you'r not using the words correctly. Seeing as how feminists have disrupted more than one male issues meeting…

Oh, ok, sorry. I thought the ban was just on certain articles, I thought this one would be ok since it was explaining that the majority of sexual assault victims in the military are male. I'll give a google search term and come back - is that okay?

You're just an againstmensrights troll looking to twist words into your own perceived bullshit in order to be pissed off about nothing. I didn't know that pointing out the obvious meaning of your words was considered trolling. Whoops. (Maybe don't use the plural form next time if you can't back it up?) Those plural forms suggest more than one instance but, this is the important part, the first sentence suggests there is more than one tactic. Actually, that's not the important part at all. The nu…

You said they used it to disrupt lectures and meetings. Those plural forms suggest more than one instance, which suggests feminists routinely pull fire alarms to disrupt men's rights lectures and meetings. So no, I'm not "done" putting words in your mouth because I never started. However, despite your quote above, I never talked about "safe" spaces. Wanna stop putting words in my mouth? I asked you a question, can you answer it? I made no suggestion that soldiers had done any such thing. Meanwhile, you suggested that feminists routinely pull fire alarms to piss on men's rights and that this method of disruption is unique to feminists. Also, your complaining about woman-friendly spaces does not cancel out the recorded instances of sexual assault - against women and men.

Sure, have at it. Now that's just my conversation thread, you can read other comments if you want a more full scope of how little MRAs think that women play video games. It's just the little things, like MRAs telling me I'm wrong when I say that half of the video game market is women and then MRAs telling me I'm wrong when I say that a small amount of the video game market is women. Sigh.

Ok, I'll get in touch with you next time MRAs talk about games. Because just several days ago I said the exact same thing about female gamers being half the market and was met with "those are just old bitches playing cell phone games, they don't count. Real gamers are XYZ and that's only 15-20% female, so ha." To clarify, I agree with you, I was just operating on the assumption you agreed with the vocal majority of MRAs about gaming.

Yes, and I'm saying that they have that power fantasy because society tells them they should be powerful. I'm not blaming men for anything, I'm pointing out the natural result of the pressure to be strong that society puts on them. Right, because it's men pushing for images depicting solid boob cleavage on the covers of romance novels No, that would be women. Obviously. Y'know, since that medium is aimed at women. I could say women have a female beauty fantasy, where they want to put themselves in the shoes of an impossibly attractive woman being romanced by an impossibly attractive man. Because women are such a big readership that they have a power fantasy fulfilled by Power Girl's boob window, and they're such a big readership that it makes economic sense for comics to cater to the and not the overwhelming majority of male readers? Finding a similar pose in a comic book doesn't mean that superheroes are female fantasies and not male fantasies. I'm just going to leave these right here. I'd be pleasantly surprised if you could tell me how those four pictures don't evidence a male power fantasy and instead are an attempt to fulfill a female sexual fantasy (because, you know, there are so many female comic readers that catering to them makes business sense).

Because male feminists always strike me as being neurotic attention-seekers, full of exculpatory self-loathing (as one should expect when cleaving to an ideology founded on misandry). One could reverse this and say the same about female MRAs - that doesn't make it an issue with men's rights. "feminist traitor" does not necessarily mean a traitor to the male gender That's why I said "you could say?". It's conceivable, but not necessary. He said "feminist traitor", not just "traitor" (stop taking words out of his mouth/s). I wouldn't really consider it a stretch for someone to view a man working against men's rights as a traitor to the gender, would you? That's kind of exactly the definition of "traitor". Oh my god, stop trying to weasel out of this and turn it around on me. Your statement was one of male sexuality being a reward to women who are "in line" with MRA beliefs. Dude, stop whining that the other kids MRAs didn't like your post. Apparently since I'm the only grown-up in this conversation, I'm going to have to be the one to stop it, and stop indulging your cathartic whinging. EDIT:Oh no, my comments are in the negatives now, I've been brigaded!!!

Forgive me, mighty one, for not spending my time combing through negative men's rights posts for myself. Any complaints against me you'd like to lodge with the Elders of the Femmenati? Translation: stop being so bitter, just admit you made a bad post and move on.

Lol, you're adorable. I'm actually in the negatives here quite a bit, I can't help who upvotes me (and regardless, do you really consider +2 to be a brigade? In that case, I have a whole orange tree in my fridge). Maybe the air's a bit thin up on that high horse of yours. Or are you just pissy because your post is in the negatives and I'm not?

Ur, then why are you asking me about unwilling sexual contacts when I'm talking about willing sexual contact? you can be assumed to not ever be fully able to consent. Absolutely. The report noted (and I quoted) that all sexual contact between prisoners and guards is illegal and viewed as staff misconduct for that very reason. However, I'm talking about willing vs unwilling sexual contact, which is an important distinction despite the fact that no legal consent can actually be given. Would you de…

I'm confused, do you not think being threatened with a gun falls under the unwilling sexual contact category? It most assuredly does, it's not being counted with willing sexual contact. I made no claim that being threatened was consent, so I don't know where you got this idea that it needed to be explained to me. The survey questions about sexual content very clearly distinguish between various types of unwilling sexual contact, and willing sexual contact. Or are you suggesting that in a totally…

They're saying that men have more power than women in society, so by default all sex is coercive, not all women are like prisoners. I disagree, but it's the same logic you're using. Are you at least consistent? Do you believe an intoxicated person can never have willing sexual contact with a sober person?
/r/MensRights31/07/13 07:59 PM

This is the same argument used by feminists who say that power dynamics between genders mean all heterosexual sex is rape. Just so you know.

I want to take a step back and point out that you're arguing men don't have the resources to cry.
/r/MensRights31/07/13 07:46 PM

Yes, that's why they differentiated between "did you consent?" and "did they threaten or otherwise coerce you or offer you special privileges?" Do you deny that those are different scenarios?
/r/MensRights31/07/13 07:45 PM

Myopia, myopia, myopia - is that the only word you know? Feminists are myopic, but MRAs are just constantly evolving. <3 So tell me, how does saying "men are/should be allowed to cry" actually enforce men being unable to show tears?
/r/MensRights31/07/13 06:39 PM

GASP, an MRA who believes in victim-blaming? Can it be? But seriously, are you suggesting that prisoners can't differentiate between coercion or favors for sex and willing sexual contact? Do you think they're that stupid? Over half of sexual contact between prisoners and staff was willing, and the unwilling and willing contact was clearly defined for prisoners, and the survey was anonymous. Why are you dismissing this significant part of the data?

And... MRAs do question their assertions? Come on, I think one of the greatest ironies is that MRAs constantly deny any possible existence of a gender-ruled society such as patriarchy, then go on to rant about the clear "matriarchy". Clearly that doesn't involve questioning their own assertions, as by a denial of gender-ruled society they can't say that society is ruled by women.
/r/MensRights31/07/13 05:27 PM

Please, point me to the latest feminist research which says that self-objectification doesn't involve viewing oneself as an object.

So really you're just nitpicking that minors are too stupid and/or immature to consent to anything? And older people should not be allowed to rape you, even if you wanted it. Obviously. Nobody is arguing that. So why don't you answer my previous question: do you think a girl who shoplifts a bottle of nail polish consented to the act? Or is she too bratty to have actually consented?
/r/MensRights31/07/13 05:21 PM
4

I understand that. What I'm saying is that minors can consent to drink alcohol. That is all I have asserted. Do you disagree with that statement? Also, there are still a ton of people who think that a girl being drunk doesn't mean she was raped, so please don't try to send that over the hill yet. Ironically enough, and shoot the messenger if ya'll want, the only people I've seen calling out reddit's despicable attitude toward this case besides MRAs is SRSers.

Unless you think there are willing six year olds, there are no "willing" inmates. I do think there's a difference between a six-year old and an adult in prison. At least half of the inmates who experienced staff sexual misconduct (1.8% in prison and 1.1% in jail) said that they willingly had sex or sexual contact with staff. ... Regardless of whether an inmate reported being willing or unwilling, any sexual contact between inmates and staff is illegal; however, the difference may be informative …

For example? Come on, this is an actually interesting conversation, and it wouldn't have to be so clipped if you could provide examples with your claims as I'm doing. How is saying "men can show emotion" actually enforcing men bottling up their emotions?
/r/MensRights31/07/13 06:35 AM
2

Feminists refer to it as "self-objectification". I would argue that self-objectification is more along the lines of reducing oneself to a pair of boobs and so on, rather than thinking of oneself as a woman foremost. And there are people who call all men pricks and bastards, so what? Just that name-calling isn't related to socialized behavior, and is something that seems to come up too frequently on this subreddit.

Most victims of staff sexual misconduct were males; most perpetrators were females. Among male victims of staff sexual misconduct, 69% of those in prison and 64% of those in jails reported sexual activity with female staff. Most women do consider their femaleness more important than their personhood in determining their value. [citation needed] As for the "harsh generalizations", most of them describe behaviour that can be entirely explained by the trap I've described. Let me try to clear up this confusion we seem to be having. What do you think consent means? Here, let my copy my comment above: [Buying porn underage] means you did an illegal thing, not that you didn't consent to do it. I identify first and foremost as a human being who is defined by the choices she makes. Yeah, unlike the women you relegated to petty perception-grooming due only to their gender. I resist the idea that there is anything special about me. Then why do you act like it? Why do you make sweeping generalizations about who/what women are as a whole and then say it's irrelevant to you? Further, do you think you are exempt when other MRAs make sweeping, often harsher generalizations about women? However…

Now, wouldn't it have been easy to say that when I asked you 16 comments ago? This is just addressing why women apologize more than men and isn't a motive for every single apology women offer. Heh. Oh great, now you're smug. At least you can't play the victim anymore. The idea that "what women do" is in any way relevant to what I You didn't say that, you said that what women are is irrelevant to you. You don't think lump statements such as "women use emotion, not logic" don't include you, because you're special in some way? Guess what, a ton of women use more logic than emotion. You think women apologize more because they shallowly care about the perceptions of others? Think about why…
/r/MensRights31/07/13 05:28 AM

That means you did an illegal thing, not that you didn't consent to do it. Would you say that some chick who shoplifts a bottle of nailpolish didn't consent to do it? All I was saying was that the statement "they can't consent to the drinking, they aren't old enough." is false. I'm not suggesting that consenting to an illegal activity makes it legal, just that consenting to illegal activities is possible. This was still clearly statutory rape, among providing alcohol to minors.

Lol. (Quick, someone's pointing out a flaw in my reasoning, accuse them of insulting women!) You insulted me, therefore unintentionally insulted all women everywhere. Your original assertion that women are more concerned with the perceptions of others. I asked you three times if you thought there was truth to that statement, and you didn't answer, so I thought I might get an answer asking if you thought it was false.

I think there a lot of minors who consent to drink. I don't think this is the case here, as authority is at play, but that statement rings untrue. EDIT: Yes, downvote the fact that minors can consent to put alcohol in their bodies of their own volition. I thought you guys liked logic?
/r/MensRights31/07/13 04:54 AM

Lol, you really think you're something special, don't you? Whatever women are is irrelevant to me, I'm so above all of that petty female-ness of caring about perceptions. ...What do you mean I'm a woman too?!

/r/MensRights31/07/13 04:11 AM

No, but the top comment asks for one from the original, whereas you simply sit here stating opinion as fact and no one thinks critically about that irony. Woah, apparently strawmen are now stuffed with the fact that this woman was just threatened with rape and murder until the guy was arrested. Sorry, I didn't realize we made the switch - I didn't think threats fell under your criticism parasol.
/r/MensRights30/07/13 03:25 PM

It's ok, you can admit that a man discussing women's issues wouldn't receive enough death and rape threats to warrant an arrest - and the reason she received those threats was her gender.
/r/MensRights29/07/13 04:00 AM
18

So... you think a man who said "I think we should have a woman on one banknote" would have been threatened with rape and murder repeatedly in 2 days? Stop misdirecting. Also, women (and men) who talk about women's rights are frequently threatened with murder and rape. But I thought MRAs didn't like oppression olympics?
/r/MensRights29/07/13 03:36 AM

Didn't you know? All feminists are fat, ugly, misandrist lesbians who secretly crave objectification and are just jealous of prettier women. /s
/r/MensRights29/07/13 03:18 AM
18

Well, if a man had said "I think we should have a woman on a banknote," do you think he would have been threatened with rape a murder continuously by a 21 year old dude via twitter? Personally, I think it's very revealing of rape as a matter of power and subjugation, and not lack of control over sexual urges, when a person uses it to threaten someone.
/r/MensRights29/07/13 03:07 AM
18

So, in your opinion, is a massive barrage of tweets threatening murder and rape in a 48-hour period an appropriate response to a woman daring to be a feminist? Or, specifically, to a woman who suggested having one woman on one banknote? I'm assuming not, but your comment seems to worded such that it could almost be suggesting that either a)she should expect these kinds of threats if she's a feminist or b)if she doesn't want to receive this kind of abuse, she should stop discussing gender issues.
/r/MensRights29/07/13 01:46 AM

None of the senators involved with SB 718 or SB 1210 are affiliated with the MRM, so I don't think I understand your train of thought. Just because a bill would have benefited men does not mean that the MRM proposed or passed that bill. SB 718 passed the state house and senate, but was vetoed as a result of feminist misinformation. At the time of linking it was +7 -4. He is arguing using the pro-lifers as a political strategy, to remove that particular female privilege in order to get feminists to agree on getting reproductive equality for men. And that's exactly what I said. I say I've never seen a feminist sincerely support conscription, you show one. You say you've never seen an MRA spitefully be pro-life, I show you one.

I don't know if I've ever heard an MRA say that they are pro-life because 'men don't have any reproductive rights, so therefore this particular venue for women to exercise their reproductive rights should be removed'. Still upvoted 5 days later: MRA explicitly saying to be pro-life for no other reason than to remove rights from women.

An attorney will advise a male client inquiring about custody that courts favor awarding custody to whoever the primary caregiver already is. There has to be some good reason for a court to want to break up that established relationship. This really makes sense – that in cases where custody is disputed, it’s probably less disruptive for kids to stay with the parents they’re already spending the most time with. You haven't read any statistics about how many rape trials end without a guilty verdict, have you? You act as if getting accused of rape is an automatic prison sentence. Yes, conscription is awful. I've never heard any feminists ever endorse drafting men into the military against their will - or drafting anyone, for that matter. The only people I've heard support the draft are old white men. So what's your beef with feminism? I'll afford myself to be 'classy' when feminism stops being gynocentric, or preferably ceases to exist. Typhpn didn't qualify those soldiers who died as conscripted - you know people voluntarily join armies, right? Because I don't think anyone should be drafted, that's not the issue. And regardless, it's deceptive to suggest being in the military is a death sentence. The issue is making grand statements about men dying as soldiers and ignoring all the women those soldiers kill and rape, as of men are the only victims of war.

I feel like a lot the beliefs surrounding "men can't be raped" stem from the same problematic root that that causes problems for female victims of rape - consent. Where people can say that a woman wasn't raped because she was wearing skimpy clothes or in other ways "asking for" sex, those people similarly view a male's erection as consent to sex, because "clearly" he's aroused and wants it.
