The sentencing is pretty appalling here, as are the charging decisions. Had the genders been reversed this woman would have been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful detention, and attempted rape. She would likely have been looking at 20 years. But men are privileged, of course.

Can't be too hard on the "fairer" sex, now. Women are like children and can't possibly be held accountable for their actions. Equal sentencing would be misogynistic and unfair to women.

Did she feel pressured in any way? Did she think you might not like her unless she had sex with you? If so, then you're an evil rapist just like every other man. /s

Way to completely misunderstand and validate anon's point. They aren't saying that inviting a man into your home = consent. They're saying that inviting a man into your home is evidence for consent. Whether or not consent existed in a he said - she said case is determined by the behavior of the parties before and after the alleged incident. That's the only evidence the court has to go on. It's not victim blaming.

I think it depends on why you fear the repercussions. If you have sex with your BF because you think he might cheat if you don't, then i don't think that's rape. If you have sex with someone because you reasonably believe that he will brutally beat you if you don't, then that would be rape.

Bravo. This really brings into focus the perverse absurdity of the politics of protected groups.

But feminism is about equality, guiz. Stop with your fake, straw feminists who are all man haters and want special treatment for women. No feminists are actually like that.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
