“Temporary fit of insanity” sounds about right!! Most of my exes have great qualities but the ridiculousness and foolishness I put up with as a HVW can only be explained this way. 💅🏽

Girls really do not understand how important it is to protect their emotional health during these developmental years. Our society does a terrible job of educating them about the lifelong consequences of abuse, including ptsd.

Teenagers are legally kids. Sorry, but what’s the point of this post? Trying to rationalize the thoughts/actions of ZVM doesn’t seem to be a productive use of our time. This is why we block/delete, right? We could have many endless theoretical discussions to try and explain ZVM behavior- but the focus should be on how to identify/avoid it, right? 🤔

I don’t think the point is to not want those things, but to not let that make you think/act desperate. Being high value and vetting HVM takes more time. Maybe you don’t get your desired partnership in 20 years. Acting desperate won’t make that happen sooner, it would just make you get married/divorced in the same time (or make you lose out on the HVM that couldda been). Also, I don’t think you’ve truly done eeeeverything else you wanted to do.

Yes. It’s so ironic that the first suspect after a murder is the guy with scratches on his face, and before the murder the suspect is the woman who scratched him 🙃

The saddest part is how much she blames herself 😞 I see girls posting here and on Ask FDS all the time that blame themselves, yet describe extremely abusive behavior from their partners. You can only see someone doing it when you’ve been through it, and this girl is showing all the signs, trying to take up less space and not get him in trouble. It’s so tragic that the cops missed it. Someone shared a book before that’s been extremely helpful to me in revisiting abusive relationships with exes. I…

I doubt he used the van to do that. Since this is clearly premeditated he could have easily just murdered her at the location where he dumped her body since they were always going to remote locations. From the super creepy last few pictures on his instagram, I think he did it on the 13th, and tried to set up an alibi through pics. They will find the body soon. This man is clearly not very smart.

It’s still there, I just don’t want to link to it. It’s easy to miss (the girl in the drawing wasn’t blonde, my bad). It’s a couple prints of a girl in a crown. It’s about four pictures after the one where they’re kissing.

Yo, she’s talking about being a nutritionist and building a website and describing how: “He doesn’t believe I can do any of it” She’s describing emotional abuse and controlling behavior. Such a shame that cops are not educated in any of this 🥲 I can’t believe the cops put him in a hotel and asked her to stay in the van that night. I think he was following in a road trip she wanted to take because he didn’t want her to take off on a career of her own.

Many women would not consider this too bad, but he’s obsessed with adult swim (immaturity) and the drawings are all like dark/cartoonish. He has this one of a beauty queen with her mouth full of blood posed with some leaves- like trying to make that sh*t instagrammable. That was really disturbing to me. I didn’t realize this was such a red flag, and I’m not a therapist, but now I will never date a guy who makes violent art. Edit: Initially, I thought I saw a print in color where the girl was blo…

I don’t think this is a matter of rejection, but of self-esteem. There’s no quick fix for that. Self-esteem/ego is hurt the worst when you are rejected by someone you think is beneath you, because your assumption is that your value lessens. You believe that if you were hotter, you would be undeniable. That’s just not the case. Models marry rich nerds all the time and still get cheated on. You should not derive your worth from the desire of men. That’s like trusting pigs to keep your pearls clean…

Why are you doubting yourself and making it a discussion? There’s nothing feminist about beauty pageants. One famous pageant leader looks at a woman, draws a face on paper, and tells her- “you should get this and this surgery so you look like this”

This is a great thought. For most of history we couldn’t access what men really thought of us when we weren’t around, and what they saved only for the ears of men. We only saw what they wanted us to see.

You don’t need a reason to reject someone or make it a rule for all other guys just because of this one. You didn’t like his situation and that’s it. I lived with my parents for a year before grad school during the pandemic, and it was even an issue going out with men bc I felt very judged. Also, I very obviously wasn’t going to stick around in my hometown 🤣 so I stopped dating. I wouldn’t date a guy who lived with his family. Girl, I’m not trying to fight you- I’ve lived in three continents in last three years and am from a very dangerous country. I still don’t mess with the US. This country is crazy as hell. The women that continue “oooohhh” and “aww” at examples of men doing the bare minimum need to read this post twice over. This are the same “toxic positivity” libfems that insist on “equality,” like the women who expect to understand how to be HVW by looking at the behaviors of HVM. It’s not the same thing! Most HVM behavior is 🤡 when done by women in the same exact way.

No, we’re not saying the same thing at all 😅 Truckers don’t hang out in campsites. The post and my comment are about the specific profession. Check out the docu series “Killing Fields.” There’s a specific legal loophole that truckers are exploiting, and it’s related to missing women, sex trafficking, and state lines. Stop telling women to hang out in killing fields, please 🙏🏽 it’s dangerous to give that type of advise. I understand where you’re coming from in terms of survival tips, tho. Edit: I…

Okay lots to unpack there. First of all, I’m so sorry you went through that. There is no excuse to why our society lets that happen. Secondly, that was traumatic and I want to acknowledge your trauma and its ongoing effects. Most importantly- what you’re describing is literally the single most dangerous position you could be in as a woman. Yesss!! Tell them!! And it doesn’t have to be men. A few months ago I also felt the need to pipe up and say things were unrealistic, etc. Know better do better, right? Like I still had some pick-me qualities and still do, probs. As I said elsewhere, men for ages have done incredible things for their wives** including building houses and going to war. Have dated white/Brown Brits. Just look at how they treated Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and she’s royalty. The fact that she’s still unpopular…. There seems to be a lot of baggage you’d have to deal with with guys from the UK. I personally choose to stay away. I like Brown immigrant guys who were raised in the States, personally. I find them to be the best all-around, and the only types of guys I’ve been friends with.

Thank. You. When I see these types of posts I always ask myself- would I think this was special if my best friend or mom did it, or of I did it? We devalue women’s emotional labor so much, and praise men for the bare minimum. This question is also great for when they’re hurting you. “Would I do that to him?” Just thinking about the exceptionally effed type of mindset I would need to be in to do some of the selfish crap men do on the daily is enough to make me snap out of it.

Off the top of my head, some red flags that go against FDS: Total disregard for financial independence Staying friends with your ex and discussing his dating habits 🤡 Started off as FWB Kinda sounds like you brought up marriage 🚩 if he doesn’t ask out of his own volition, you move on. What if he said yes?? You still believe he can change Nagging him about not proposing even though “he promised”

Thanks! The sheer curtains to cover the lights sounds adorable. I’m not a fan of exposed lights so this is great. Will look into frames/prints as well, since I’ll be able to afford that this month.

Wow, salt lights are such a great idea! Yeah, I am growing my shopping list of cushions and other things I plan to slowly purchase each month.

Living alone for the first time- bought flowers and a plant. Would love to hear about ways to warm up a new apartment, or to socialize with neighbors (I live in a university apt. building). Also looking to stretch/frame a painting without breaking the bank. I’m just so excited and happy you guys 🌻🌻 Update: You guyyys!!! The leader of my uni’s women’s organization lives down the hall. I sparked conversation with her in the elevator and am so grateful I did. Looks like I’m making friends already 🌸

Agreed. Also, the posts calling men they just met HV are weird. There’s one where members are encouraging a woman to give this dude a chance even though she’s not attracted to him!! It’s so inherently against the mission of this site, wth.

For me it was coming to terms with the fact that my ex was abusive. He was kind, caring, devoted, and everyone loved him, but I kept going to bed angry, feeling irrational. It wasn’t until my friend asked me, after our break up, “would you have done that to him” and I applied it to a million things in our relationship, that I re-evaluated everything. Lying and cheating is inherently abusive. Sounds like you’re coming to terms with how much he effed your reality up. No one ever confirmed it for m…

I wasn’t surprised the date didn’t go well since they phone screened for a coffee date, which isn’t worth it, personally. Coffee is technically supposed to be the screening bit, and guys who do it are usually not really invested in commitment

This is why I decided to never be friends with a woman with ongoing abusive relationships. My first encounter with it was when my friend reacted badly after I mentioned to her that she was putting her future children in danger because her husband was abusive (I’ve commented elsewhere about this but he yelled at me once and she did nothing). I could never with a clean conscience be in the lives of kids whose mother exposes them like that. They have a kid now and she’s still with this troll of a m…

I was just watching this with my mom, and Ross and Monica never dealt with their family issues, and it was so awful. In comparison, Rachel as a character totally changed her life in spite of her dad & sisters. Ross never got over himself and sabotaged the relationship at every opportunity.

After watching “The Chair” - literally the worst pickmes of all time- I shuddered internally since I am academic track. The LVM scrote “leading romantic interest” literally did everything possible to sabotage Sandra Oh’s career until he succeeded. Academic pickmes are the worst.

100%- not knowing is such a mind scramble. Mystery isn’t romantic- it’s dangerous and draining. If it’s not marriage, and he doesn’t move to your city right away- it’s not worth it. This guy would continue to future fake about moving, etc, and with the pandemic and closed borders it was hard to tell. I used to wonder so much because I couldn’t answer- “Why would he lie? Why would he do all this for me?” I no longer worry about it. I simply know that the situation is not good enough for me. It’s …

An ex scrote fooled me through reverse psychology whenever I would call him out for making me feel used. In our long distance situationship he wasn’t obvious about wanting sex, and he was well off. He would always ask me “Why would I fly half way around the world just for sex when I could have it anytime right here, from models?” I always doubted myself cause he had done it multiple times and I didn’t get it because he wasn’t trying to marry me or anything. But the truth is that this guy, as per…

[looks around] Are we on the same subreddit? I fail to see how romance fans aren’t pickmes? I’ve already commented on suggestions elsewhere in this thread. I’m not a libfem and no I’m not supportive of Twilight/50Shades fans, etc, etc, just because they are women. I don’t see how lying to women and telling them that romance is empowering is helpful, do you? Am I supposed to pretend that re-packaged misogyny is not harmful? Lol at the downvotes from women obsessed with romance. I didn’t say relationships with men weren’t fine or that lesbian romance wasn't a thing (the OG post was about trash so I assume lesbian romance to be a higher standard/ inapplicable)- I also didn’t say romance=porn; I said the libfem argument was the same (i.e. trash=empowerment). Romance for the most part is a whole genre built around the pursuit of men, in a universe of media that already centers men. It’s trash. As a casual consumer, I k…

At this point I’m glad the podcast clears up that libfem posts like this are not exactly in line with FDS. I grew up in a family full of happy marriages, and that’s what I want for myself. Part of being HV means not being afraid of commitment, jaded, etc, and wanting stability not just for yourself but also your children. I’ve had the roommate boyfriend and I will never again tie my boat to a man without a marriage license to protect me from him. This thinking is how women end up investing years…

I co-sign except for the fact that I started as a teen with Jane Austen and the Brontes and if there is one genre that will set your mindset back to the stone age it’s those books. I encourage us to look for media (books, movies, etc) that not only passes the Bechdel test but also doesn’t really discuss men at all. There’s plenty of it out there. I once read a sci-fi novel about a sentient ship, and another desert apocalyptic one where tech was fueled by bugs. There’s a few sick feminist fiction…

Whenever I start feeling insecure about a woman with surgery, I always check out her partner and their relationship. Nine times out of ten they are treated like garbage. In fact, the number of surgeries tends to match the depravity of the man’s behavior (see Kardashians). Many HVM dislike plastic surgery, or value other things more. As someone from a place where most women get surgery, I learned that it’s rarely worth it.

Satellites use hot women in their follows to have access to Hot Girl TV and get social clout by getting you to like their pics back (make it seem to other girls like tons of hot girls like them). If they were interested they would have reached out. Doesn’t seem like you’re attracted to them, so just delete them. They’re not your friends. My rule is, if I haven’t had a one-on-one hang out with the person, they shouldn’t have access to my insta.

Yes, and it’s beautiful to realize you weren’t the problem. Co-dependency sometimes doesn’t let us see when someone is abusive to us because helping makes us believe we’re the ones with power. I’m so glad you realized this. Another friend fake cut me off again &. accused me of victim-blaming because after years of advising her to go to therapy, I finally told her I wouldn’t be exposed to her abusive relationships. After much thought, I blocked her on everything, and cut-out all mutual friends. Y…

This is so confusing. Girl, why is it good to waste 4 years on a scrote with an age gap and commitment issues? Also, why are you “waiting” again for a dude when it didn’t work out the first time. The handbook is clear on block and delete whenever you get mixed signals…

You’re doing amazing healing, even in spite of a terrible therapist. My first therapist was similar. When I would tell her about an abusive thing an ex did, she would say “it seems like he wasn’t into the relationship” or “it seems like you rushed into things.” She essentially blamed me (🚩). She also glossed over my trauma (🚩). My current therapist is trauma-informed (🟢). She tells me “he didn’t deserve you. You deserve someone who treats you with respect,” and “you’re exceptional, and ordinary …

MVM are just LVM who you haven’t caught yet. Being “meh” is an active choice in every aspect of your life. In fact, it’s even worse when you can’t pinpoint a reason (trauma, addiction, low income, etc)- it means he just doesn’t care. You’re describing men who are either not ready for commitment, not crazy about you, or who you have to raise like a child. It’s worse to find out you’re with undercover LVM after years… but you won’t end up there if you read the handbook and defend your instinct.

I’m really grateful for the positive spin lately in the reddit and this episode. Feel very supported/validated. I’ve talked about flirting before and had some members insist that I shouldn’t flirt, and that men should approach in spite of a RBF, which is silly buns. Those types of men are creeps. I like approaching men, have honed awesome skills, and I never ever ask them out- because I never have to. Those men I approach always turn out to be the best relationships. The best is to just pull the…
