My children have become entrenched in the parental and Grand parental alienation that I'm dealing with with my poor children I've been fighting and fighting and fighting to make sure that they remember that I'm here and that I love them and that I'm stable and that they need me while my wife and my mother-in-law are telling them false things I know this because they're repeating these things to me things they're untrue or they're exaggerated or they're taken out of context but my children will n…

I dont want to go forward at all. I want to get out and get away. The kids order me to give up my custody. The wife is refusing to help with just signing her name to help the house. She won't do anything. Stall stall is all she does. I have no traction. I cant do anything. I can stop paying on the house which will force her out. But if i do that I get in trouble with the courts.

The reason that I only get 5 hours a week with them is because I thought very very very hard for counseling than a therapist during my mediation unfortunately it turned out exactly the way I thought which is she has not taken the kids to counseling at all and therefore violated our agreement

It's fairly easy to take care of children when everything is paid for your house your car your insurance your food your utilities all you have to do is live in the house and everything is paid for automatically it's not hard to do she's never had a job that was her choice we discussed many times throughout our marriage that it was up to her whether she wanted to get a job or not she decided no

Easy? I dont make enough to pay rent or for food. I need to get this settled so I can live my life and be able to pay for a place and eat. I make OVER 200K and I cannot afford a place to live. How do I pay for a lawyer? how do i pay for my next meal? Fight? Fight what? Which part?

My kids are 16, 13, and 11 and they are all turned into Robots. The more I put myself in a sitatuion to be around them the more I open myself up to being thrown in jail by my STBX. I would rather leave and meet up with my boys when they figure this all out. They will

I love your story and your honesty. Seriously, it gives me hope because right now I am terrified, mostly of how unpredictable my kids and my ex can be. My situation is similar but with the added nightmare of her and her mom turning my kids (three boys: 16, 13, and 11) completely against me. Every visitation is torture. They won’t talk, won’t eat, won’t even look at me, and every single week there’s a new accusation or story. I’ve tried everything for four months, nothing comes back but more dista…

The only thing my lawyer has told me when we've discussed this subject is that I better find a way to pay for everything in the MSA

Yes I'm working too and she's working zero
/r/Divorce_Men11/07/25 07:44 PM

Yes this is exactly the point that I'm trying to get at as per the MSA I'm required to pay for the house but if I can't afford the house what if I pay 75% of it each month and keep the 25% for myself so I can live and slowly the house starts to go into foreclosure because she refuses to sign a mortgage referral or anything to keep the house afloat I have let her know the house is going to go into foreclosure soon and she doesn't care so is the best idea to just let it go into foreclosure I've as…
/r/Divorce_Men11/07/25 07:39 PM

You had already sold the home at that point oh boy I can't even get her to help me sell the house she won't agree to do anything she won't sell it so I don't have any money at all I have nowhere to stay I have nothing and she won't sell the house she's just going to sit in it
/r/Divorce_Men11/07/25 07:23 PM
1

Right but I don't know all the repercussions of what happens when you file for bankruptcy I don't know you know the house right now is in good standing the cars are all in good standing do I wait until they're all being repoed I don't even know if I can do that because I can't fall behind on payments that are designated in the MSA
/r/Divorce_Men11/07/25 07:20 PM
2

Let me ask you this how much did you have as a buffer when you claimed for bankruptcy were all your credit cards filled up all your money gone or did you have a little bit of a buffer somewhere and if so how much buffer did you have I'm just curious cuz I have no idea how it will work how it will affect how long it will take and if I have no buffer then what do I do
/r/Divorce_Men11/07/25 07:19 PM
2

So I have a question about bankruptcy when do I file for bankruptcy at what point um when should I wait until is there a Tactical time to file
/r/Divorce_Men11/07/25 06:58 PM

How what do I do
/r/Divorce_Men11/07/25 06:52 PM

So I can tell you that that hasn't been done my wife is not working as far as I know if she is working I don't know anything about it I haven't seen any money I don't know what's going on yet again no information from my lawyer
/r/Divorce_Men11/07/25 05:08 PM
2

Do you know of a calculation or template that is used in a case where a wife does not work and needs the husband to pay for everyting while she is divorcing him and he has to pay her bills and everyhting else because she does not work. What should be the percentage?
/r/Divorce_Men11/07/25 04:52 PM
2

Are you saying that this, when presented to a judge, will uphold the current requirements in the MSA and make me pay more money then I even make?

/r/Divorce_Men11/07/25 12:52 PM

Child support is capped I am paying the maximum we don't have alimony yet because we're still pretrial but the alimony was written in as I have to pay for everything including the house the car the insurance the bills the children's Insurance my wife's Insurance my wife's lawyer all of that was built in which is more than 100% of what I make and I also need to live on my own

I appreciate you sharing that, and I’m honestly glad it worked out for you even if it’s not perfect. I have done the same thing. I’ve genuinely apologized for everything I did wrong, owned my mistakes, and told her I was truly sorry, more than once. I really do want to find a path forward that respects our past but lets us both create something healthier, even if that just means co-parenting well. At this point, I just want to be able to work together and move on with some dignity and respect fo…

Thank you for your perspective. I genuinely have apologized over and over. I tried everything from kindness to compromise to literally giving her everything she asked for, just to get some peace for both of us and the kids. I even tried being completely transparent about everything that happened, including the hard truths, because I thought honesty was the only way forward. Thank you, I really appreciate the straight talk. I agree this is killing me financially and mentally. Unfortunately, in Texas, judges sometimes do order one side to pay for the other’s attorney during the process, especially if there’s a big income gap. That’s what happened to me with the temporary orders and the MSA. I’m following everything by the book because I don’t want to risk contempt, but I completely get your point. Thank you, genuinely, for jumping in your advice always seems on point. Yes, I’ve prepared a full, updated financial affidavit with all my actual living expenses, including every mandated payment (child support, her attorney’s fees, mortgage, car payments, insurance, etc.). I’m operating at a monthly deficit, so I’m documenting everything, and I have all the supporting statements, paystubs, and account balances ready to go. I’m about to submit this to the court (or have my attorney do it) and fo…

Kids’ Ages: Three kids, all minors middle school and high school. Paying Over 100% of Income: My net monthly income is about $11,800, but with child support, her attorney’s fees (court-ordered), two car payments (one for her car), mortgage, my own rent, insurance, etc., my outflow is over $12,600/month. I’m literally running a deficit and burning through savings/retirement. Why Her Lawyer? The judge ordered me to pay $750/month toward her lawyer in temporary orders, plus all child support and mo…

I’ve been thinking seriously about pausing payments on the house to free up some cash for basic living expenses. Right now, I’m completely tapped there's no money left after covering everything I’ve been ordered to pay. My thought is: if they file a motion to compel, we show up with full transparency. We explain the reality not that I’m refusing to pay, but that I literally can’t. We present the updated Financial Information Statement (FIS), backed by documentation, and demonstrate the hardship …

Number one the car I’m paying $1,000/month on is her Kia, and it’s leased. I can’t just trade it in or dump it. As for a home equity loan can’t do it. The court already said no, and on top of that, my wife flat-out refuses to do anything to help the financial situation. I’ve begged her to sign a mortgage deferral, begged her to work with me nothing. She refuses at every turn. And look I actually love the ideas you’re throwing out. Every single one. I'm trying to keep myself out of trouble, but at the same time, I don't want to just sit here making life comfortable for her while she gets to ignore everything and live like there are no consequences. You're absolutely right it’s misandry baked into policy, and the system doesn’t even try to hide it anymore. This isn’t just “unfair.” It’s calculated. It’s tolerated. It’s profitable. And yeah, they’re trying to break me financially, emotionally, legally. They want me isolated, exhausted, and silent. That’s the playbook. But I’m still here. Still showing up. Still telling the truth even when no one wants to hear it. Because the second we stop speaking up, they win. And I’ve got too much to figh…

Thank you, seriously. You didn’t need to say anything, but you did and that means more than you might realize. Sometimes just having someone recognize how twisted this is helps keep me sane. You’re right even if there’s no perfect advice, calling out injustice still matters. Because this is unjust. And if enough people start to see it before they get caught in it, maybe we’ll start changing it. I’ve been dropping pieces in legal forums and men’s support threads too, trying to cover every angle. …

Appreciate you saying that truly. Knowing you made it out means something right now, even if I can’t see the light myself yet. And you’re right. This system isn’t broken it was built this way. A weaponized court, disguised as “family,” designed to bleed one parent dry while rewarding the other for prolonging the pain. I’m watching my kids be used as pawns, my earnings siphoned off to fund the legal war machine, and every time I ask, “How is this legal?” the answer is just silence. We do need a c…

When you're pushed past your limits emotionally, financially, legally and no one seems to care that you’re being bled out while following every rule, it starts to make sense how people break. I’m not there, and I never want to be. But I understand now how someone could feel so trapped and powerless that they lose themselves. That’s why I keep speaking up. Thank you for your honesty and kindness. We’re both walking through something that feels unbearable, and yours is just as heavy to you as mine is to me. This isn’t a contest. This was incredibly well-written, and every word landed with weight. I’m a 50-something myself, and I’ve lived this exact bias. It’s jarring , how quickly strength is equated with guilt, how being calm and restrained doesn’t matter if your arms look like they could do damage. People see size, not intent. Assumption becomes verdict. You captured something crucial: the muscle doesn’t protect us, it actually makes us more vulnerable in these situations. And when the system buys into that bias, even…
