Y’all are saying the same thing. Self-control and learning how to not bite at the carrot dangled in front of you is the start.

Jesus’ masculine traits were fantastic. His unyielding commitment to hard truth despite social taboos and peer pressure and continual commitment to challenging paradigm, mission, and action need to be imprinted in our practice as much as the loving and compassionate side of God. Jesus showed a great practice of discernment when those soldiers came to take him away and Peter sliced the ear off the servant. Jesus said, “Shall I not drink the cup the Father had given me?”, knowing the necessary pea…

The only wise requisite to trimming partner options based on character is to have stronger character than that which you are choosing not to associate with.

Dude has had some surface level stuff that is helping point kids and young men in the virtuous direction, but ultimately his main mission is to use his influence to make millions off his viewers and you can feel it through his content. He presents his thoughts as ultimate truth then backtracks as he finds something new. Just read the books and do the work. No need to yoke yourself to a 27 year old that doesnt believe in the bible as a spiritual guide.

Follow the advice others are giving about getting the amount of calories you need. If your maintenance is 2500, take that number and subtract 500. Aim to eat 180g of protein from food a day and supplement the rest with any vegetable and basic carbs like rice, oats, quinoa. Satiste your hunger with oatmeal in the morning and lots of water. Occupy your time and make no excuses for not going to the gym. Fad diets don’t work because you need to permanently change the way your mind thinks about food …

Go get some therapy, buddy. Sort out your thoughts with a licensed professional that can steer you in the right direction.

To echo off the other guy, what is your mission? Someone in the discord was roasting people with sucky missions because they get bored. It seems you are the same and this is true in how you relate with your wife. Figure out what YOu want to do and Im sure that she will see that as desirable and follow suit, not that this is super important.

I don’t care if it was harsh or not, it was good advice. I am going to rewrite it when I get more time to do so.

This is one of the biggest things I have learned from reading the sidebar and listening to the experiences of people here that have been active in their pursuit of God with a defined frame. Headship is defined well here and means more than deciding where to eat out, like most christians act.

I needed to hear this. I’ve gotten sloppy about letting what goes on around me affect me emotionally. This stoic approach seems to be RP communication 101.

RPC is a male only space, I would suggest reposting this on RPCWomen or discuss in the discord and delete this post. Also this situation honestly sucks. To be biblically clear, God gives sexual immorality as a reasonable reason to divorce in Matthew 19.

Thats some rough stuff to deal with. I could imagine everyone there has a bunch of trauma that they have been passed down or continue to pass down. Do understand that my understanding of how to discipline children is best done when you yourself are able to process your emotions well. Often convoluted thoughts can mask the intentions of the discipline, therefore making it detrimental to the child. Since you have been by this discipline, find a new way to do it for your kids.

I think first start with rhetoric. Explaining to the child what they did wrong, why the discipline is necessary, and how they can do better next time, acknowledging the complexities of children and disciplining in a way that speaks well, whether it be spanking, taking away a fun activity, sitting in the corner, etc. For a child that shuts down from physical discipline, doing so will probably not be an effective strategy for that child. It is very easy to spank and not leave black and blue bruise…

You completely ignored the part where OP is not advocating for turning your kids black and blue..

Bro why are you trolling this sub? Why are you causing division between believers?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
