She didn't want it to happen the way it did, whether or not she wanted to get married to him. Why couldn't she have gotten an attorney to help them out of this? I guarantee you if you put a white woman and a white man in a court room with the same history, same judge, ect, for the same minor drug offense, the man will be behind bars much longer than the woman (if she gets any time at all.) I should note this is coming FROM A WOMAN! I could walk down the street, see a guy that I didn't like the way he was looking at me, go say that he raped me, have no evidence (because of course in my fragile mental state, I took a shower / washed off all traces of him), and effectively ruin his life (bonus points if it's not a white man as I'm a white woman).
