This is way too broad of a generalization. For instance, if only one partner works, they're actually likely to end up on a lower tax bracket. And there's a lot more to taxes than just the marginal tax rate

Come on, his this is so upvoted? You really think feminists want rapes to continue to happen so that they have political capital? This is such a shitty post

No it doesn't, and you're making a strawman. She never mentioned, nor does anything she said logically suggest that masturbation to pictures is rape. She's saying that taking pictures of a nude person without their consent and spreading it all over the Internet is a major violation of privacy. It's the same as if you took private pictures of your ex and spread them all over the internet.

Yeah, maybe comparing it to rape isn't the best, but just because you want to be a celebrity doesn't mean you give up all rights to your body. If someone values that, it's the type of thing society should protect.

Good for you. I'm glad you're pursuing a lawsuit against her (and yes, do record everything she says on social media, it's likely all admissible evidence against her), and I'm really glad your family was able to stick with both of you through this.

Maybe Rubio is really just indifferent to these issues. But one thing you have to give feminists credit for is that they've done a good job making women's rights important to the voting block. The problem is, there is nothing like this for men. No ones going to say "Marko Rubio is soft on men's rights," or, as I've heard so much from women, "There's a war on men!" The article nails it. He voted against the VAWA, and probably someone is advising him that he can't alienate the women's vote. Classi…

Going to be an unpopular opinion, but I think RAINN's position is reasonable. Clear and convincing is much harder to show than a preponderance. If there is clear and convcing evidence that you raped someone, the interests in keeping a child protected from violent crimes is a very compelling interest.

From my experience, this is 100% wrong. First of all, in regards to this article, you don't know that it is really just a he said/she said. It's a really brief article There may have been bruising or other physical evidence. There may have been witnesses to the fight in the hotel who heard what was said. There may have been statements by the victim to her friends for years demonstrating her state of mind. You don't really know. You're making assumptions about this case. And as someone who intern…

To be honest, there never is. This sub has a tendency to post news articles about trials all the time. News articles have a tendency to oversimplify legal issues, misunderstand legal issues, and spin legal issues in a way that is more interesting to the audience. It's like when you read a Huffington Post article about some new scientific study, and then realize the article is completely misrepresenting the study.

What bothers me about articles like this, is the wage gap has long been a sign of female oppression and sexism. When women start earning more than men, it's an accomplishment that society should be proud of.

It's a preliminary injunction. Likelihood of success on the merits is an element the court has to consider. It wasn't just a motion to dismiss

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
