Yeah, but in her mind, showing that weakness means that you've been faking your strength all this time. The switch flips from "Strong man" to "Weak man pretending to be strong" and it's fucking all over sooner or later. Yes it's fucked up. Males commit suicides at 4 times the rate of women. I fucking wonder why eh.

They may not be there specifically to exercise their fucked up nature, but they will while they're there. Protecting women who need protecting with their emotions and difficulties that they know only women go through compared to us men who "have it so easy". Rejecting men who are weak and not good for the business. After all, the idea that both men and women have emotions and trials and difficulties is an idea that doesn't enter many women's heads. They think that men have it easy, women have it…

Real sorry to hear that mate. It's a crap deal, all part of "how easy it is to be a man in this world" as women like to remind us as if we're just breezing through. I'm currently dealing with an unpleasant sadness, maybe somewhat depression, over the last few days, much of it from my girl's actions - but I can't show her even though she's the one who's support and nurturing I most want. She's a textbook woman. She'll be concerned and caring for a short while, but it'll soon be very unattractive …

Oh I don't know... as a man, I'm going to go to a comedy club and shout my ass off half the night, giving people the finger then getting on the stage and taking over. Then I'll walk out and cry as a victim to the management. I'm sure this will result in all my drinks and my friends drinks being paid for...

Many people talk about TRP to promote themselves and distract from their own lack of action. Don't be that person. "There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self." - Ernest Hemmingway “Eyes open, mouth shut.” “Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation. I remember talking with a woman (hitting the wall) who was complaining that there were no good men in this city because it was known as a "gay city". I threw up some quick stats, 6 million people in the city, 3 million of them men, 1/6 single so that's 500,000 men. Let's say that half are gay: 250,000 single eligible men in the city but there's not even one good one? Are you sure that's the problem? She told me that I didn't understand, but I could see in her eyes that I'd given her hamster some…

It was one of my steps of awakening to see these huge size 24 whales talking about how they only date slim guys because two fatties together doesn't really work for sex... ...and all I'm thinking is "You've got choice? Like this: Are you going to do something to help him? If so, stop wasting time thinking about the poor bloke and get on with helping him if you care so much. If not, learn from what happened and then move on. Creating a person in your mind to empathize with doesn't help him, and it's just mental masturbation beyond any growth you get from understanding his situation. Help the poor bugger out, or learn and move on. It sounds heartless, but the reality is that you can't help everyone. You need to …

Even for those height-ists, 5 foot 11 inches is cringable? Insert usual arguments about changeable weight but not height, personality matters, all women are looking for is a good sense of humor, nice guys win in the end, etc. I'd be salty about it if I hadn't started understanding years ago. I've bailed out of all my dates with them since they all gave off the turbo-herpes vibe. Yep. We're not exactly dealing with the cream of the crop here. The ones who are hot have such a vast array of men begging for their attention that it's terrific for their ego as they pick off the top 0.1% of their emails. If you don't care about other people (and being a drunk-driver, that's pretty likely) then why wouldn't she give it a go. If it works, she gets out of her trouble. If it doesn't work, there are no repercussions. It's all going to stay the same or get better for her at this stage if she puts that shit on. It's probably not that she's cold, her hamster most likely protected her from the uncomfortable thoughts she'd have to be aware of for her to be cold. It's an easy one. I don't want to hurt my man, if I tell him then it would upset him terribly, I can't hurt him like that... And when he was dying, that rationale would have simply been stronger than ever. At my advancing age, I have dated a number of post-wall women in late 40s. I still want to believe that not all women are like that, surely they've learned and grown as they've aged, but no... My experience is that All Women Are still Like That. Let me tell you some stories: A woman I've been dating learns she has cancer and tells me she's going back to her ex who has promised to take care of her. I've been encouraging a particular woman to explore and grow, to push the boundaries and find the world. Learn, attempt, embrace the variety of experience in the world. It's only the sexual boundaries that appeal to her. And her life is void apart from what a man creates and inputs into it. It's fucking disappointing, but it is what it is. Edit: To her credit, she has tried a bit but without the "special snowflake" / "men desire me" incentive, she's just not into it. Again, fucking disappointing…

If she can't imagine any possible situation where she'd be falsely accused, serve out: "You stole my credit card" but the true thief was an indentity thief, or "You killed my cat" but you just happened to have the same car and be in the same area, or I'm sure you can think of more.

Yeah. For women, it's because of their background - so they need love, not punishment. Men? Fuck men. It's his own fault for doing the crime. You deserve jail. Personally, I think every person is responsible for their own actions. We offer help and assistance before the crime and after the crime - but to excuse the crime itself? Hell no, do the crime and you pay the consequences - what sex you are makes no difference.

Surely we'd hear half the population getting cat-called if it's so frequent... but somehow the women I'm walking past aren't getting cat-called at that particular time. I like this solution, is similar to what I was thinking of... 24 hours to be gone, I'll organise a moving truck, a storage unit and a cheap hotel. I use this technique often. Occassionally a person will retain a strong frame of "fuck you" or want to become physical, but usually my response of calm sure-footed bringing them into clarity and accountability humbles them and often results in an apology, sometimes even reapproaching me afterwards to apologise. I do worry about having my head kicked in one day by doing this though, only would take one bad judgement of 'pick your battles'.

The mentality that the way to deal with a bad boyfriend is to flirt with other people does my head in.

...and in the party there were some girls talking about having sex with their professors. Sounds like some real classy mature women...

Ignore it like you don't give a fuck and just smother it with confidence. Won't take too long to be second nature. Alternately, put yourself in situations where people are hanging out with you for a period of time (like kayaking, volunteering, etc) where even if some women are thrown for a bit initially, they're interacting with you long enough to forget about it themselves and pick up on other qualities. That doesn't take long either.

I've met sluts I like and sluts I don't like. Most sluts are smug - a very unappealing personality trait. Many sluts believe the crap they are told in men's attempts to get them in bed. Seeing women with a delusional idea of 'how interesting they are' etc from this is sad. Many sluts don't define themselves beyond their ability to attract men - not achieving or aspiring to achieve anything significant with their lives. Again, a very unappealing trait. If you change your mind about a committed re…

You're really hung up on this "what people think of other people" thing. I mean what I say. Fuck me, right?

Yeah, I know what you mean. Reddit REALLY IS one website and I'm referring to the larger picture of it being acceptable to censor practically (not actually) on a whim, being much more broad than just this subject. I take your point though, I see what you mean and agree. You see what I mean right?

That's a good point. I'd be interested to see whether the threshold of approving comments before the subject is pulled differs between the two.

We view the issue differently. Not irrelevant.

Inappropriate. That is an amazing stance for a website that allows /r/spacedicks amongst other things. Meanwhile, it took 20 seconds to find two posts of Lulu in /r/technology ...

Say g'day confidently with a genuine smile as you pass her getting on with your own life, honestly. It's no big deal, move on and forget about it.

I don't like when women are unjustifiably represented poorly. I also don't like it when women represent themselves poorly. I can't put the clips of women happily using their sex appeal to be objectified and paid for it into the same basket as women who are doing constructive things and being cheaply slighted for it because only they are female, but this video happily puts them in the same basket as both being victims. I think this video is ironically using objectified sex appeal for it's appeal …

There are always going to be assholes. Nobody is saying that assholes are okay. The people approaching are not the assholes... It's the people not leaving it alone when asked to leave it alone that are assholes. The subject we're talking about are people who think they're above being approached. Every day I have homeless people approach me for money, I have chuggers approaching me for donations. Oh woe is me, what with these people feeling entitled to my time...

Ah yeah, this is where to meet the quality women! I'm sure they'll all be intelligent, independent and interesting.

There are much better things you can do with your time. I would move on from her.

I think your best approach would have been to engage the old guy genuinely and strongly, push her out - then let her back in yourself.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
