Ok I think I need to clarify my stance here. I am NOT for the mandatory circumcision of everyone. I am FOR the choice being available. When a patient is born with phimosis or when the parents experienced phimosis as an adult and wants to prevent his child from undergoing the same pain. People may have other reasons for circumcision and that is their own prerogative. However, banning circumcision based on the belief that it does nothing but hurt the child is wrong. I am not saying that everyone should be circumcised, all i am saying is that the choice should be available.

Interestingly enough I will never do a circumcision in my practice. I practice in a non-surgical field (Internal medicine). I am just opposed to the lack of choice. On a separate note, its interesting how people jump to conclusions when doctors make their choices public. As a doctor I favor having the choice of circumcision available. If you decide that you don't want to circumcise your child that is perfectly fine.
