This entire post is fantastic and a great reminder but I love the phrase "broom them out of your life." Definitely adding that to my vocabulary!

"Understand how difficult it is to change yourself. You have no chance changing someone who doesn't even want to change." This quote literally changed my life. I have stopped putting effort into expecting anyone--whether it be friends, family, or potential partners--to change.

My two main takeaways for this are: This is yet another reason to not skimp on an engagement ring. It could literally be your lifeline if something goes wrong. You owe it to yourself and any future children to not skimp on that. Before getting married, check the laws on wedding rings in your state. Some states say an engagement ring is a "conditional gift!" (This is typically during the engagement, not after getting married.) This is a great post; I shared it with all of the queens in my life an…

Preach, sis! I casually mentioned that I wanted to buy my own house and the immediate response was: "You mean you want to buy YOUR OWN HOUSE, and live ALONE!?!?!?" Uh, yeah. Do what you want! Don't let anyone judge your life decisions.

Honestly, that's so true! I feel like I went through an anti-Twilight phase just because of how negative towards it people (oh yes, MEN) were on Reddit. I went back and rewatched the movies, and you know what: they were not terrible at all. Far from works of art but not at all deserving of the absolute loathing they get on this platform. Why do men have to project their feelings onto everything women like?

Wow this was so well written I'm honestly just blown away. I can even look at my own life and I've never changed without a switch just randomly happening triggering me to be different. Will keep this in mind as I continue levelling up.

I gotta go watch that one episode because I'd love to see some more modern-day commentary about this.

Ayy I had that same idea yesterday while making this. I even watch a lot of TV/Movies and don't know if I can consistently pull up examples. Maybe a visual dictionary of examples of LVM and HVM would be a good idea?? Feel like it would spark some exciting debate as well... If you feel like doing it, you totally should!!

Lol, I think I purged that scene from my mind after watching it. Just rewatched that clip on YouTube and holy crap that was bad! 🤢🤢

Yikes I haven't seen 50 First Dates but it sounds very sus. That is actually a good point I didn't pick up on. And it is totally true that social media and the internet can give LVM a way to know a lot about a woman without having to repeat the same day. Be careful out there, ladies!!

That is so true! One thing I've seen here a lot is everything that makes someone LV is something they can choose to change if they felt like it. Unfortunately, most LVM would rather not change.

That's insane! I had a friend who danced in high school and the level of commitment just blew me away! It is 100% a legitimate sport!

One of the best posts I have read in a while and a trap I know I personally would have fallen into: https://www.reddit.com/r/FemaleDatingStrategy/comments/jx5mqq/strong_independent_careerwoman_pickme/

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
