I'm sorry but if your concern about women's behavior is that toxic behavior is not called out then you're trying to find moral fault which anchors close to blame. On the point of accountability I have never heard anyone use those phrases about women's behaviour without also trying to place blame. I'd love to be shown examples otherwise

I skimmed a couple of their street interviews and those are not random interviews. They're public interviews but the people you will find in different public spaces is not random. Set up in a college and you'll get a different selection from the suburbs or a business district or a military town. I wonder if they have any street interviews outside churches or mosques because that will bias towards a certain population segment. They're transparent surveys but on their own they only capture part of…

Do you know the process the podcasts use to select their guests? Without that information you're simply choosing which bias to believe in just like those you're arguing against. The comments about the choice of women interviewed is not that other options would automatically defeat the hosts but rather that other options would truly reflect the diversity of opinions among women

“You actually can avoid being abused in the future even if you were abused in the past. You can learn from your mistakes. You’re not completely helpless to abusers and bullies forever. You are capable of having a healthy relationship, although you may have to change and grow.” This is not "choose better". It's thoughtful, takes the time describe a better future and inspire action towards that change. "Choose better" loses that positivity and many times when asked to elaborate the people saying c…

Usually this was not very welcome, both from a moral and functional point of view. Since for a very long time most people had the need to survive in order to live on. And for this it is necessary that all members of society function properly (engaged in agriculture, hunting, crafts, etc.) Remind me exactly how long the institution of slavery lasted? Society can survive a long time by oppressing elements of the community. This doesn’t even take into account morality and the fact that the wife’s f…

And this system was observed and worked right up to the 18th century, when most of the population lived not in cities but in small towns or villages. In this time could a man rape or otherwise best his wife without sanction? [Imagine female acts of abuse of violence here]

I think most people would say that you can reject someone for something that is likely to affect you in a relationship and it's wrong to reject for something that doesn't affect the relationship. I disagree. Relationships are self contained spaces. Racism is as good a reason to dump someone as any because the racist is relevant to the future of the relationship. Most people would say that she is acting in an unacceptable manner, and while we can't force her to do the right thing, we can give our…

Is it? The primary purpose for marriage was economics, procreation and inheritance. That's why virginity was important. That's why we had dowries. The value was in some advantage whether in the form of children who represented security at end of life, social acceptance for religious and customary norms, preservation of family property, etc. Love and romance was useful as it contributed to those ends. Rich people sometimes could afford to consider romance everybody else dealt with the reality of …
/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 08:44 AM

You can be a supportive partner without getting married. Over the average of a large population this fact is disproved. People willing to be supportive are willing to accept responsibilities including marriage. People who'd flake tend to keep away from public commitments. An unplanned pregnancy might be have responsibility shared equally but the burden is not. Nothing is going to change the fact that one person is going to have to carry that child and need to deal with that fact and it's consequ…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 08:32 PM

Making a lifelong comitment that only works if another person doesnt pass away/ become seriously ill or leave you is deffo a bad idea Let's call it a bad idea. It's better than the worse ideas of making a lifelong commitment with the same premise only weaker protections. Being unmarried doesn't protect you from anything you outlined. Marriage in East Asia generally has a more rigorous filtering effect because it has social and personal weight, it helps vet if a guy is worth having a child with
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 08:29 PM

A woman does not impregnate herself. But she certainly does have the sole ability to choose if she's going to keep the pregnancy. That's the main difference between OP's upbringing. Unplanned pregnancies are not continued because women judge that they lose more in taking up the lifelong responsibility of motherhood without a supportive and committed partner rather than taking the chance and hoping that later down the line a partner comes along to help out. Child support is still required regardl…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 08:20 PM

The problem is that statistics overall prove that this thinking doesn't work out over the majority. It gives average outcomes when it works and bad outcomes when it doesn't which is a bad strategy. A good strategy like OP outlines on East Asia gives neutral options when it fails (unmarried woman without children) and good outcomes when it succeeds (woman with child and supportive partner). Making lifelong commitment without even the flimsy safety net of marriage is a bad idea
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 08:16 PM

Also, any father has to pay child support just as an ex-husband would. Ex-husband comes with communal property and a demonstration of commitment that ex boyfriend doesn't. Single mums struggle and always have. It takes a certain kind of naivety or recklessness to have a child without planning for how and who is raising that child
/r/PurplePillDebate11/08/24 08:13 PM

What responsibility is shared here? Only one person can get pregnant so only one person can decided what they require in a relationship to carry a pregnancy to term. Having children before getting married makes sense if both people are working and neither is interested in getting married This doesn't make sense. Why on earth are you entering a lifelong relationship with someone you're not sure you want marry? A unmarried woman working is far more at risk than a married woman because the father h…

We're calculating rate of occurrence not logical possibility of occurrence. The average human child from age 0-10 is more vulnerable to both men and women than women are to men. Does this fact produce a credible threat in every encouraging between a child and an adult?

link This is the closest incident to the scenario of a male stranger immediately attacking a woman for refusing his advances. This was a rare occurrence among a sub dedicated to documenting attacks on women. I'd say it's rare enough that the scenario in the OP of giving out your real number is way down the list of appropriate responses to a stranger's advance
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/24 06:57 PM

The improper behavior I was referring to was specific to the scenario outlined in the OP. Giving out a real number is odd. You yourself set out several steps a woman could take before resorting to giving out real numbers so clearly that action has certain significance.

I saw a girl who had made a fake instagram account to give to guys. That way they didn’t get rejected, and she didn’t share any personal information. This is in line with the kind of preparation I'd expect from someone who deems such risky encounters as likely and credible. Giving your real number to someone you believe posee such an immediate threat surely is worse than not giving your number and risking the public confrontation. Someone that violent is only going to be more pissed off when the…

So you had the means and ability to maintain your safety without conceding to an advance. I don't think you're exceptionally physically capable more than other women so those who would give into fear are doing themselves a disservice
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/24 12:16 PM
1

All your points seem to talk around the issue and try to set up rationalizations for acting improperly. Who are the people expecting pleasant behavior and why do their opinions matter? Certainly not not your friends and family or colleagues who know that a woman is in a relationship and is rejecting an unwanted advance. How much credible risk do women face from directly rejecting strangers in public?

If a woman was prioritizing her safety she wouldn't give out her real number so the scenario in OP would not apply Realistically, how many strangers pose a credible threat that the rational response is to concede rather than get away?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/24 12:00 PM
1

Yes we should expect women to prioritize commitment over unrealistic chances of assault. The kind of person who poses a credible threat in such a situation is not going to just stop after you give him your number so a woman who does that is only sabotaging herself by alienating her support network.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/24 11:56 AM

I disagree. What are the realistic chances that a woman cannot fend off an advance by referring to her relationship but needs to humor that advance? Who knows is just copping out to having to defend your actions

What information are they lacking? I'm not a woman or dating and I'm inundated with opinions and preferences about women. there isn't some conspiracy to hide obvious facts. That assumes that either position, tradition or otherwise, is not part of society. Humans are not robots, they can think for themselves and while that thinking is not free from error, it is still agency
/r/PurplePillDebate18/01/24 02:24 PM
13

That's the point I'm making. Feminism gave women the option to choose and they're choosing, traditional or otherwise. The old system didn't have that agency. Life is full of inevitable regrets so you live with what you choose.

Ask those anxious women if they'd give up their current advantages. Life is a balancing game of strengths and weaknesses. Funnily enough the modern environment does not prevent a woman from reverting to traditional roles, there's a thriving conservative culture so it seems the people who really want what the past offered are going for it.

This average woman "settling", isn't actually settling, she is more likely to be taking a guy on her own level. This doesn't make it any less settling. Choosing to go after what you can get rather than what you want is the definition of settling.

The second argument I use is the count itself. I explained it to my niece who was 22. Let's say you're 22 and you've been with 50 guys. Why are you assuming 50 partners by age 22 is the average for promiscuous people? How are you going to be able to value a man with the mentality of "I can get a new man in a month" the second the slightest inconvenience comes along? Bro but she is a mother… like this dude is a POS and abuser but when you’re a parent you aren’t “supposed” to do certain things because now you’ve gotta be a role model. To be frank the worst role model she played was getting with this guy. Seeing your mother choose an abusive partner is a whole lot more damaging than seeing her being immodest.

What collapse indicators are you seeing? It’s actually impressive how fast third wave feminists managed to fuck things up and cause an increasing amount of distrust and resentment between the genders. Let's look at this situation. The idea received mass praise and then hostile commentary as an inappropriate solution to rape. What this tells me is that feminism is not a monolith, there are differing actors within the ideology - some with a counter-productive approach. This is the exact scenario "not all men" applies to. Noticeably the project continued because there were no calls for it to be discontinued and funding came in. The project itself was eventually replaced by an alternative.
