You're possibly thinking of alimony which only applies to divorce and if the spouse is unemployed, this is child support to a non married partner who obviously has a well paying job, so no he would get child support easily, especially since she gave up all custody which is basically legally saying "yes I will pay child support".

I feel like this is ignoring the fact that it can be nearly impossible for a woman to get a trade jobs because no one will hire them because they're a woman. A majority of bosses and business owners are male, a majority of them are male due to the fact women didn't use to be allowed to do that, so because of that they're more likely to be discriminated against. It's systemic, so not nessarily patriarchal, but it's a serious problem. Hopefully I phrased this well enough.
